Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Alarmate.app and SimpleX.

What makes your product unique?

Alarmate.app's answer

Most apps rely on notifications. Alarmate uses alarms.

Notifications inform - but theyโ€™re easy to swipe away. Alarms demand attention. For time-critical moments, that difference matters.

Alarmate was built for people who miss things not because they donโ€™t care, but because theyโ€™re busy, focused, or overwhelmed by tools that donโ€™t cut through. Meetings, flights, important calls, rest breaks, and personal moments deserve more than a silent reminder.

By combining real alarms with Live Activities, calendar and reminder integrations, and a clear timeline view, Alarmate makes time visible and urgent - without constant clock-watching or mental load.

You always know whatโ€™s next, how much time you have left, and when you need to act.

No missed meetings. No forgotten moments. No anxiety from checking calendars all day. Just reliable alarms that show up when it matters.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

What's the story behind your product?

Alarmate.app's answer

Alarmate began with a simple insight: only a real alarm can break deep focus.

Valeria, co-founder of Alarmate, was constantly jumping between meetings. Calendar reminders were easy to ignore. So she tried something different - she set a loud alarm five minutes before every meeting.

Within a week, everything changed. She was on time. She had five minutes to prepare and switch context. She finally had short breaks between back-to-back calls. The alarms created clear hard stops, so meetings ended on time.

After two weeks, something unexpected happened. Her anxiety dropped. She stopped checking her calendar every few minutes. She could focus longer because she trusted the alarm to interrupt her when it mattered.

Alarms became part of her daily system - not just for meetings, but for breaks, water, medication, birthdays, and flights. Especially during work travel, seeing a clear countdown to departure made her feel calm and in control.

At the same time, Max, co-founder of Alarmate, had built a simple one-tap alarm prototype for Apple Watch to help himself get enough sleep. When he heard Valeriaโ€™s experience, the idea clicked.

They realized alarms could be a powerful time-management tool - but the default alarm app wasnโ€™t built for that. It didnโ€™t sync with the calendar. It required manual setup. It quickly became cluttered.

So they joined forces to build an alarm app designed for focus, clarity, and real life - not just waking up.

Thatโ€™s how Alarmate was born.
