What's the story behind your product?

AI Exporter's answer

AI Exporter was created by Colin in early 2023, shortly after ChatGPT became widely used.

While using ChatGPT, he often found valuable answers that he wanted to share with colleagues, but the built-in sharing and export options were limited. He wanted a more flexible way to select only the useful parts of a conversation and export them cleanly.

So he built the first version of AI Exporter: a simple browser extension that added checkboxes before each message, allowing users to freely select multiple parts of a chat and export them.

This was before โ€œvibe codingโ€ became popular. The first version was rough, but the core idea was clear: AI conversations should be easy to save, organize, reuse, and share.

Since then, AI Exporter has grown into one of the most popular AI chat export extensions, supporting 13+ major AI platforms. Today, it is used by 180,000+ users, has 1,400+ reviews, a 4.8-star rating, and has been featured by both the Chrome Web Store and Microsoft Edge Add-ons.
