Here every change is stored as a dated record with a quote from the vendor page it was read from, so past values never disappear when a vendor updates a page. That makes it possible to answer questions the current state cannot: when a price actually changed, how long a model lived before it was deprecated, and how much notice the vendor gave before shutting it down.

Price calculators tell you what a model costs today. This tells you what it cost before, when it changed, and where that number came from. It also covers more than price: model additions and removals, API and SDK changes, security notices, and retirement dates.

The deprecation tracker is the clearest difference — vendor-published end-of-life dates are collected in one place and offered as an .ics calendar you subscribe to once, so shutdown dates land in your calendar instead of being something you have to go looking for.

Extraction from vendor pages is LLM-assisted, but no record is published automatically — every change is reviewed by a person before it appears, and each one carries a link and a quote back to the source it came from.

It started from a simple observation: vendors change their own documentation, and the old version is gone. Two examples that shaped the project — the same Claude model was given 60 days of notice on one platform and 184 on another, and two of Google's own pages listed different retirement dates for the same model at the same time. Neither is visible if you only ever see the current page. So the project stores what each source said and when it said it, and treats that stored copy as the record.
