Overall verdict

  • Selfcommit.dev appears to be a niche accountability/goal-tracking tool aimed at helping individuals commit to personal or professional goals, but there is limited widespread public information, reviews, or track record available to fully verify its quality, reliability, or long-term support.

Why this product is good

  • Focuses on personal accountability through structured commitment tracking, which can be motivating for self-improvement
  • Likely has a simple, developer-friendly interface given the '.dev' domain branding
  • May offer a lightweight, distraction-free alternative to bloated habit-tracking apps
  • Could be a good fit for solo builders or indie hackers who prefer minimalist tools

Recommended for

  • Individuals looking for a simple self-accountability or commitment-tracking tool
  • Developers or indie hackers who prefer niche, no-frills apps over mainstream productivity suites
  • Users comfortable trying newer, less established platforms
  • People who want lightweight goal or habit tracking without complex features

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing AdCulator and Selfcommit.dev.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

AdCulator's answer

Astro, Preact and Tailwind CSS, deployed as a static site on Cloudflare Pages.

What makes your product unique?

AdCulator's answer

Most calculators give you a number and stop. AdCulator shows every result next to real benchmark data — Facebook CPM across 52 countries, Google Ads costs by industry — with the source cited on the page. You find out not just what your CPM is, but whether it's good.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

AdCulator's answer

General calculator sites cover thousands of topics an inch deep. AdCulator does one thing: advertising metrics. That means 16 tools that solve in any direction, benchmark data attached to every result, embeddable widgets, and no signup or paywall.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

AdCulator's answer

Performance marketers, media buyers and agency account managers who need to sanity-check ad costs quickly — plus small business owners running their own Facebook, Instagram or Google campaigns.

What's the story behind your product?

AdCulator's answer

It started from a gap: work out your CPM on any existing calculator and you get a figure with no context. $8.40 — is that good? Bad? Normal for your industry? The answer lived in scattered benchmark reports, most citing data from 2016. AdCulator puts the calculation and the current benchmark on the same page.
