Cachely is the managed self-hosted remote cache for Nx and Turborepo - the cache backend you'd otherwise build and run yourself, hosted for you on Cloudflare's edge (R2). It's a drop-in replacement for a DIY @nx/s3-cache / S3 bucket setup: point your build tool at Cachely with a token and two environment variables, and share build cache across CI and every developer's laptop.

Unlike a self-hosted cache, Cachely enforces read-only tokens at the API, so pull-request and fork builds can read but never write - closing the Nx cache-poisoning attack (CVE-2025-36852). It adds ROI reporting (the real build minutes and dollars the cache saved), per-tool insights, and build-optimization suggestions on top.

Pricing is a flat per-workspace subscription with no per-seat fees - add every developer, bot, and CI actor without watching the bill. Cachely never stores your source code; it caches only task outputs and their content hashes. Nx and Turborepo today; Bazel on the roadmap.

  • Show HN: Write Code to Solve Minigames
Hi HN! Codyssey is a small programming game where you write Python functions to solve minigames. Think pong, flappy bird - the functions serve as a control mechanism for the player. It evolved from an end-of-year activity I made for an introduction to programming class for 9th graders, difficulty has been adjusted obviously. I ran it as a workshop / competition at several conferences, now considering making it... - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago

  • Show HN: A note-keeping system on top of Fossil SCM
I used a note system built on top of Fossil as my primary system for quite a while. Here are the details in case anyone is interested. Fossil allows CGI extensions[1]. There's a database for tickets, but that's just a regular SQLite table that you can use to store anything you want, and it's version controlled and queryable. I stored the notes plus metadata in the tickets database. The CGI returned HTML with the... - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
  • Writing a (simple) code editor for the web?
Hey there! Thanks for reaching out. Writing a code editor with syntax highlighting in a browser can be a little tricky, but it's definitely doable. One resource that might be helpful is the Ace Editor library (https://ace.c9.io/). It's a lightweight but powerful editor that includes syntax highlighting for a huge range of languages. • The ShnooTalk programming language
The frontend uses the ace editor for syntax highlighting and then sends all the "text" you have typed to a python backend. The backend then writes all the text to a temporary directory and calls the compiler using subprocess (something similar to os.system). Source: almost 4 years ago
