Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing 6th Mind and Second Computer.

What makes your product unique?

6th Mind's answer

6th Mind is the only mental health app built from a real clinical practice with 500+ therapy sessions and 80%+ patient success rate. Unlike meditation apps, it uses clinically-validated AVE (Audio-Visual Entrainment) therapy developed by a psychiatrist and psychologist team. Our proprietary EEG Index™ methodology - based on actual brain activity measurements from patients - enables personalized treatment protocols with measurable outcomes, not just subjective "feel better" results.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

6th Mind's answer

vs. Meditation apps (Headspace, Calm):

  • Active brain stimulation therapy vs passive meditation

  • Clinical validation (500+ sessions, 80%+ success) vs lifestyle wellness

  • Evidence-based protocols vs general relaxation

  • 100% free vs $12-15/month

vs. AVE apps (Lumenate):

  • Clinical focus (treating depression/anxiety) vs recreational (psychedelic experience)

  • Backed by real clinical practice with measurable patient outcomes

  • Personalized 15-day protocols based on assessment vs open exploration

  • Developed specifically for mental health treatment, not entertainment

vs. Therapy:

  • Free and accessible 24/7 vs expensive and scheduled

  • Can be used alongside traditional therapy as complementary support

  • Based on protocols proven effective in clinical practice

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

6th Mind's answer

Our primary audience is people aged 25-55 struggling with depression, anxiety, insomnia, or burnout who are:

  • Seeking science-backed, non-invasive mental health solutions

  • Looking for affordable or free alternatives to expensive therapy

  • Open to technology-based approaches to mental wellness

  • Interested in evidence-based methods with measurable results

  • Wanting complementary tools to use alongside (or instead of) medication and traditional therapy

Secondary audiences include tech professionals and entrepreneurs dealing with burnout, and anyone who prefers medication-free approaches to mental health.

What's the story behind your product?

6th Mind's answer

6th Mind was born from our clinical mental health practice in Sofia, Bulgaria. After treating 500+ patients for depression, anxiety, and burnout over 18 months with 80%+ success rate using AVE (Audio-Visual Entrainment) therapy, we realized something powerful: the same protocols that worked in our clinic could potentially work through a smartphone.

We saw that effective mental health therapy was inaccessible to most people - either too expensive, geographically limited, or required special equipment. Our psychiatrist and psychologist team spent months analyzing data from hundreds of clinical sessions to develop personalized protocols that could be delivered via any smartphone's camera flash and speakers.

Our mission is simple: make clinically-proven mental health therapy accessible to everyone, everywhere, for free. The app brings our clinical expertise into your pocket, transforming your phone into a therapeutic device backed by real clinical data, not just wellness trends.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

6th Mind's answer

Core Technologies:

  • AVE (Audio-Visual Entrainment) - Stroboscopic light patterns + isochronic tones for brain stimulation

  • Proprietary EEG Index™ - AI-based methodology linking brain activity patterns to mental health states

  • React Native - Cross-platform mobile app framework (iOS and Android)

  • AI/Machine Learning - Personalization engine for adaptive treatment protocols

  • Smartphone hardware integration - Camera flash (for light therapy) and audio output (for sound therapy)

Clinical Foundation:

  • Muse EEG headband - Used in clinical practice for brain activity monitoring

  • Roxiva lamp - Professional AVE equipment used in clinical sessions

  • Psychological assessment frameworks - Standardized questionnaires for patient evaluation

Data & Analytics:

  • Python backend - Data analysis and protocol optimization

  • Custom AI algorithms - Real-time therapy personalization based on user feedback

  • Cloud infrastructure - Secure data storage and processing

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

6th Mind's answer

As a B2C mental health app focused on individual users, we serve thousands of people rather than traditional "enterprise customers". However, our user base includes:

  • Individual users seeking free mental health support (current primary focus)

  • Indie makers and solopreneurs dealing with burnout

  • Tech professionals and developers experiencing work-related stress

  • People who have tried medication or therapy but seek complementary approaches

Future B2B partnerships in development:

  • Corporate wellness programs (employers seeking mental health solutions for employees)

  • Psychologists and psychiatrists (using the app as between-session support for their patients)

  • Universities and counseling centers (providing accessible mental health tools for students)

Note: We're currently B2C-focused with a free app. Our "biggest customers" are the hundreds of individuals who complete our 15-day protocol and see measurable improvements in their mental health. We're building toward B2B partnerships but haven't launched enterprise offerings yet.
