Features and specs

What each product offers, as listed by its team.

3DBinPacking 12 features
LoadPlan 18 features
  • Pack a Shipment
Core 3D packing engine that selects the optimal packaging units for each order. Supports three optimization modes: minimum number of packing spaces, maximum space utilization, or lowest total cost.
  • Stack Pallets
Calculate how to stack products on pallets while respecting dimensions, weight limits, and stack height constraints.
  • Find a Missing Dimension
Complete incomplete packaging data by calculating the missing third dimension when two dimensions are known, ensuring consistent and valid input data for all packing calculations.
  • CheckMax Load
Calculate the maximum number of units of a given product that can be packed into a specific box, pallet, or other handling unit.
  • Product Grouping
Supports grouping rules so products can be packed by group name (e.g., product family, order line, customer, temperature zone), ensuring items that belong together are packed together.
  • Rotation Control
Fine-grained control over how each product can be rotated during packing, including horizontal -only rotation or free rotation in any direction.
  • Per-Space Item Limits
Define a maximum quantity of a specific product per handling unit (box, pallet, etc.), ensuring that no single box or pallet contains more than the allowed number of items.
  • Maximum Weight per Handling Unit
Enforce weight limits per box, pallet, or container, preventing overloaded units and helping maintain compliance with carrier and safety regulations.
  • Maximum Stack Height
Define a maximum allowed stack height for pallets or other load spaces so that the packing result respects stability and safety constraints.
  • Visualization & Step-by-Step Instructions
Generate visual packing instructions showing exactly how items are placed. Warehouse staff can follow step-by-step visuals instead of figuring out packing manually.
  • API for Full Automation
API for integrating packing optimization into WMS, ERP, or e-commerce systems. Accepts product and packaging data, returns optimal packing plans, statistics, and visualization links.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing 3DBinPacking and LoadPlan.

What makes your product unique?

3DBinPacking's answer

3DBinPacking is the packing-optimization software that combines high-precision algorithms with lightning-fast performance. 3DBP processes packing calculations in just a few milliseconds. This means your team gets instant results, even when working with large datasets and multi-SKU shipments. It’s speed without sacrificing accuracy — and accuracy without sacrificing flexibility.

LoadPlan's answer:

LoadPlan combines three things every road freight professional needs into one affordable browser-based tool:

  • 3D Load Planner with auto-pack algorithm and manual drag-and-drop modes
  • 22 transport document templates including CMR waybills, invoices, and packing lists
  • Six logistics calculators — LDM, CBM, axle weight, transport cost, and CO2 emissions

Most competitors charge €500+ per month and require enterprise implementations. LoadPlan starts at €2.99/month with a free 1-month trial, no credit card required.

It's the affordable middle ground between basic Excel templates and expensive enterprise TMS software — built specifically for European road freight SMEs and mid-market operations.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

3DBinPacking's answer

Because 3DBinPacking delivers what's promised — reliability, accuracy, speed, and true operational impact.

Here’s what sets us apart:

  1. Unmatched Calculation Speed Our optimization engine handles massive workloads in milliseconds, enabling real-time workflows and instant carrier rate calculations.

  2. Enterprise-grade Accuracy The system consistently delivers packing plans that reduce wasted space, lower material use, and minimize shipping costs.

  3. All features in every plan We don’t lock essential functionality behind expensive plans.

  4. Built for developers and non-technical teams Use our intuitive web interface or integrate through a robust API.

  5. Proven in high-volume environments From e-commerce giants to logistics networks, companies rely on 3DBinPacking when speed and precision truly matter.

  6. Exceptional customer support We offer something rare in this industry: responsive, human support from people who understand logistics and technology.

LoadPlan's answer:

Three reasons:

  • Price. LoadPlan starts at €2.99/month — a fraction of enterprise tools that charge €500+ per month.
  • Depth. Most competitors do load planning OR documents OR calculators. LoadPlan does all three in one tool.
  • Speed. No installation, no IT project, no training. Sign up and generate your first load plan in minutes.

LoadPlan was built specifically for SMEs and mid-market freight operations that have been priced out of enterprise software.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

3DBinPacking's answer

3DBinPacking is designed for companies that ship, store, or move physical products at scale. Our main audiences include: - E-commerce companies - 3PL providers - Fulfillment centers - Warehousing operations - Manufacturers - Logistics and supply-chain teams - Custom software developers building packing workflows

LoadPlan's answer:

LoadPlan is built for European road freight professionals:

  • Freight forwarders and customs brokers
  • Hauliers and carriers
  • Shippers, retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers
  • Logistics managers and supply chain specialists

Our users range from one-truck operations and small forwarding companies to mid-market logistics teams of fifty people at retailers, manufacturers, and wholesalers. We serve customers across the EU, UK, Norway, and Switzerland.

The common thread: companies that move cargo by road and need professional tools without enterprise pricing.

What's the story behind your product?

3DBinPacking's answer

The story begins with our founder, Albert, who worked in a fast-growing e-commerce company. As order volume increased, so did the chaos: too much packaging waste, unpredictable shipping costs, and a warehouse team overwhelmed by manual packing decisions.

Albert realized there were only two possibilities: either a solution existed — or he would build it.

With a development background and first-hand logistics experience, he created the first version of the 3d bin packing engine. It started as a small internal tool… then grew into a platform used by companies around the world.

3DBinPacking was built out of a real problem, in a real warehouse, by someone who lived the operational struggle firsthand. That’s why the system remains so practical, fast, and effective today.

LoadPlan's answer:

LoadPlan was founded in 2026 in Vilnius, Lithuania by freight forwarding professionals.

After years working in road freight, the founders kept seeing the same problems repeat across companies of every size — overloaded axles, half-empty trailers, CMR waybills typed into Word templates that broke every quarter, transport costs estimated in spreadsheets that nobody fully understood.

The tools to solve these problems existed, but they were priced for enterprises with IT departments and six-figure budgets — irrelevant to the thousands of small and mid-sized operators who do most of Europe's road freight work.

LoadPlan was built to fill that gap: professional 3D load planning, transport document generation, and logistics calculators at a price any company can afford.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

LoadPlan's answer:

LoadPlan serves freight forwarders, hauliers, shippers, and logistics teams across Europe — from one-truck operators to mid-market companies. Common use cases include daily CMR generation for international road freight, 3D load planning for FTL and groupage shipments, and axle weight compliance for cross-border deliveries.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

LoadPlan's answer:

LoadPlan is a modern web application built with:

  • Next.js 16 + React 19 + TypeScript for the front end
  • Three.js with React Three Fiber for 3D load visualization
  • Tailwind CSS for the interface
  • Supabase (PostgreSQL) for the database and authentication
  • Stripe for payments and subscription management
  • Brevo for transactional and marketing emails
  • Cloudflare for CDN, security, and global edge delivery

The platform runs entirely in the browser — no installation, no plugins, no desktop software. It works on any modern browser across Windows, Mac, Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, and Android.
