1time.io is the only open-source one-time secret sharing tool with true zero-knowledge encryption where the server is mathematically unable to read your data. 1time.io encrypts everything in your browser using AES-256-GCM before anything touches the network. The decryption key lives only in the URL fragment (#), which browsers never send to servers. Even a compromised database yields only unreadable ciphertext. It also bundles password generators, a CLI tool, and Docker self-hosting — features no other secret-sharing tool combines.

I started building 1time.io because I realized most "secure" secret sharing tools have a fundamental flaw - they encrypt on the server, meaning you're trusting them with your plaintext. I wanted to build the most trustworthy zero-knowledge one-time link tool possible, where the security isn't based on promises but on mathematics.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

1time.io's answer

Go (backend, stdlib only), Next.js 16 / React 19 (frontend, static export), Redis (storage with TTL-based auto-expiry), Web Crypto API (AES-256-GCM encryption, HKDF-SHA256 key derivation), Node.js (CLI tool), Docker Compose (self-hosting), nginx (reverse proxy + rate limiting). The entire stack is lightweight and dependency-minimal by design.
