With that said, if you aren't working with confidential data, why not? I am a coder working with public open source, so I work wherever I want. I rarely go out anymore, though. It's a pain. I tend to use noise generators to get lost at home, like Coffitivity.com. They have a bunch of noises to simulate a coffee shop. I can see how that wouldn't work for everyone, though. Just an option. Two things work very well for me. First is the sounds of a coffee shop. If I can’t have the real thing, I use https://coffitivity.com. Source: 11 months ago
Https://coffitivity.com - I’ve been using this sometimes with and sometimes without headphones. Also I like the soundscapes from the Calm App. But icl I don’t think the type of headphones make a difference - considering you’re in a quite environment already? Source: 11 months ago
You can try mimicking it with https://coffitivity.com/. Same noises, but not the same visual. Source: about 1 year ago
One resource I've seen some students have success with is https://coffitivity.com/ which simulates sounds of coffee shops. It gives students more of a sensory experience of being in a public places, but with less randomness that can be distracting. Source: about 1 year ago
And alternative/addition to #3 - https://coffitivity.com/. For me, it emulates the feeling of studying on a coworking space/a study group, without actually socializing or going out of home/my office (and it's often a problem for ppl with eds). Source: about 1 year ago
> Now I wonder if that's the effect of all the people around. I used to study at the student center on campus (Rutgers New Brunswick) for this reason. I tried the library a few times, but it felt off to me for some reason; too quiet, perhaps. FWIW, this helps sometimes: https://coffitivity.com. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
Just depends on what I'm feeling in the moment. Sometimes it's my favorites (NIN, Tool, Clutch, DMB, Jack Johnson, and more), sometimes it's a classic rock station or the Aperion station/channel on youtube. If I'm having a hard time getting into the writing, I'll put on Coffitivity, too. Source: almost 2 years ago

It often helps me focus if I have some background noise to go along with it. Unfortunately, this doesn't work for me with music, so I use https://brain.fm/ or https://coffitivity.com/. Source: about 2 years ago
I like coffitivity.com for that perfect Starbucks cafe background noise 🤌. Source: about 2 years ago
Do you have noise canceling over the ear headphones? They are very good for tuning out distractions. Sometimes I just put on https://coffitivity.com/ to block out my co-workers' voices. Source: about 2 years ago
I also found this a while back which is oddly helpful when it's late or you can't get out. Hope it helps. Source: over 2 years ago
