Sorry. I didn't mean the shell per se, but the app. What I mean is that with Classic Shell I can change the appearance of the taskbar. If Classic Shell doesn't work it would definitely annoy me, as the default setting options are too restrictive for me. Source: almost 4 years ago

I’m far from a Linux fanboy, and I understand the complexity, but dude installing Ubuntu, PopOS, CentOS, and RedHat are all really quite easy. I agree there are quirks however. In any case, yes I get it, touch based design isn’t as good for keyboard and mouse… but that’s the reality… average users want touch controls. Average users are the biggest market.
