  My suggestion depends on how you plan to use the computer. If it's meant to be a dedicated gaming machine and basically nothing else, you could look into Chimera OS. Someone might want to install ChimeraOS or Batocera, to give a few examples.   If you like SteamOS and want something like it on desktop, though, I'd look for something with the same base/underlying system (Arch Linux) and the same desktop environment as the Deck's desktop mode (KDE/Plasma). My favorite is Manjaro in my desktops/laptops. This'll be very much like the Deck's desktop mode without the gaming mode (though Steam's Big Picture mode is basically the same interface now).
