  • Node vs Flask for Scaling
Depends on your risk profile, the best bang for buck is https://www.ssdnodes.com/ if you want something more stable https://buyvm.net/. Source: 10 months ago
  • How can I use Failover routers to maximize uptime?
If you want an external DNS there are services or you can get a small cloud instance. I use buyvm.net and they have a decent value VPS for $20/yr. Source: 11 months ago
  • Looking for Reputable VPS Host that Allows Custom ISOs in USA...
Pretty sure BuyVM allows you to upload an ISO to be installed. I have a couple vps with them and I've noticed what appears to be that capability in their management console. https://buyvm.net/. Source: 12 months ago
  • Where to Host a Full-Stack App on a Budget?
Buyvm.net - These are very cheap but still high quality. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Post a Picture of Your Plex Server!
I'm impressed! Where do you get a VPS with those specs that cheap? Most VPS's with half that RAM, vCPUs, and storage cost double what you're paying! And here I was thinking that my little BuyVM VPS was cheap... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Do NOT use Oracle Cloud Always Free Tier.
    1) Pay for some hosting from a reputable VPS host. The cheapest and probably best I've found is BuyVM (not an affiliate link - feel free to check the preview in your status bar). However, because of this they can't keep stock for very long. Stock replenishes the first week of each month as billing gets charged. Source: about 1 year ago
  • VPS as gateway to internal proxy (traefik)
I run a similar setup, and I just run another traefik proxy on a buyvm/frantech VM. The traefik instance just reverse proxies *.mydomain.tld to my IP address, where my internal traefik instance is listening. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Beginners questions to performance, costs and data security
I have a VPS from BuyVM/FranTech and picked up a second one from RackNerd during the past Black Friday sale. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Looking for experience with alternatives to DigitalOcean (Vultr, Linode, etc) because I'm tired of getting burned
If you're wanting suggestions for other providers comparable to DO/Vultr/Linode, then I can't help but mention BuyVM. I've been a customer since December 2011 — just shy of 11 years — and I'm still one today. Their VM series options & plan structure is dead simple nowadays (it was a lot more complicated back in the day with as many as 3–4 different VM series options on offer) — they chop up the standard-sized gift... • About an Static Ip address.
I've used both https://www.ovhcloud.com/ and https://buyvm.net/ for a similar reason. If done right you can even host your own game servers on your home network with out exposing your home network to the internet. I connect to a wireguard server on my vps and can use it like a "normal" consumer vpn but with a static ip. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Newb Question: How does bandwidth work if I want to host my own image gallery from home?
I pay around $3.25 a month at http://buyvm.net for a virtual machine and 256GB storage slab. It is mainly for photos and some files for friends. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • VPS with spinning rust disks
BuyVM has VPS plans from $2 p/m with 10Gb SSD, but you can attach to it a Block Storage Slab costing $1.25 per 256Mb. The servers are located at Las Vegas, New York, Miami and Luxembourg. I own a couple of VPSs with them for many years and their service is very reliable. Only downsize, is because of high demand sometimes is difficult to find availability. Source: about 2 years ago
  • What are some cheap VPS to run Tor exit nodes?
Https://buyvm.net/ allows Tor exit nodes so long as you notify them and follow some general guidelines posted in their Acceptable Use Policy. Source: about 2 years ago
  • [Relay Operator] So I have been running 2 relays for 5 days straight now :)
Im having buyvm.net check them out also. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Changing providers for a VPS, looking for an alternate.
I would recommend BuyVM, because they are competitively priced. I can run nginx, as well as 5 node.js apps on a 2 gb ram server. (ps: 4GB ram servers are 10 USD on BuyVM). Source: over 2 years ago
  • Looking for a webhost on Tor / Darknet / Onion network for 100% legal webshop
Https://buyvm.net allows tor hosting, you just have to inform them, so they know how to handle the inevitable flood of abuse complaints. Source: over 2 years ago
  • cPanel Backup Solutions
You might want to look at Wasabi for S3 backups. Price is unmatched. Otherwise FTP to a cheap VPS with block storage like BuyVM.net is a low cost option for a offsite, but you would need to be comfortable running a VPS yourself (though they do give out a free direct admin license for all but the lowest cost VM). Source: over 2 years ago
  • zfs performance on BuyVM
I found in another thread the mention of buyvm.net, which looks pretty interesting. Basically, they sell block storage of up to 10 TB (you can also buy small like 256 GB and grow later when you need it) you can attach to a "dedicated server slice". Block storage price is at $5/TB/month, which is pretty good. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Do you recommend I become a relay with this setup?
Https://buyvm.net even allows exit nodes, so you could donate exit bandwidth for 3.5 dollars per month. I've been running an exit node in their Luxembourg datacenter and 1GB vps great. https://metrics.torproject.org/rs.html#details/FE097DC0CF900B5923E0F07FA230EB77139E2AE7. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Backing up a YouTube channel with rare live recordings
You can use something like BuyVM and just run youtube-dl on it which will cost you roughly $2 + $5/TB a month. Using a ballpark estimate of 10000 minutes of HD videos (there are 840 videos, so 10k minutes should be generous) at 88MB per min would put you at under a TB, which shouldn't break the bank. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Cheapest VPS?
I would suggest BuyVM. Their smallest VPS is at 2$ and served well as a tunnel between my homeserver and the public internet for me. No problems so far and they have a good reputation at lowendtalk too. Source: almost 3 years ago
