I used breather.com to rent a space for job interviews a few years ago and it was perfect. It looks like they don't have much available now due to covid. Source: almost 5 years ago
It's more for office spaces but maybe peruse through https://breather.com/ and see if there is something that can be shifted to what youre looking for? Source: about 5 years ago
Paid: I have never used them so I can't vouch for them but there's something called Breatherwhere they rent out meeting rooms in the city. I think it's designed for people to meet with their clients or collaborate (not sure why they wouldn't just use their own office but maybe for freelancers?) not really sure buty ou can check their website out. Breather is a notable player in the realm of office space and workspace management, offering a service that parallels the convenience and model of Airbnb, but specifically tailored for meeting rooms and office spaces. Despite facing stiff competition from other platforms such as Splacer, Peerspace, and Workrave, Breather distinguishes itself by catering to a niche market that requires short-term, flexible access to professional environments.
Operating primarily in select cities across the United States and Canada, Breather provides a unique solution for businesses and individuals seeking temporary spaces for meetings, workspace needs, and more. The platform is user-friendly, allowing clients to specify their requirements in terms of time, budget, duration, and the number of attendees to find spaces that match their criteria. This approach aligns well with the expectations of today's digital economy, where flexibility and accessibility are paramount.
Public perception of Breather is generally positive, with many users appreciating the ease with which they can find and book spaces. The platformโs design garners comparisons to Airbnb, noted for its intuitive and approachable interface. Users, ranging from freelancers to large corporations like Uber and Facebook, have leveraged Breather for a variety of purposes, indicating its versatility in addressing diverse professional needs.
However, feedback indicates that the availability of spaces has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has temporarily diminished its usage for some. For example, some users noted a reduction in available spaces, reflecting the broader impact of the pandemic on the demand for physical meeting spaces.
Breather's spaces are primarily designed for business meetings and work-related engagements. However, the platform's versatility is highlighted by users who consider it for unconventional purposes, such as job interviews, personal meetings, or even a quiet place to talk out loud privately. This adaptability demonstrates Breather's potential to cater to a broader audience beyond traditional business needs.
While Breather is a strong contender in the market, it competes with several established and emerging companies, including WeWork, Peerspace, and LiquidSpace, each offering distinct features and geographic coverage. For instance, Storefront expands its reach beyond North America to cities like Hong Kong, London, and Paris, potentially challenging Breather's market share in those regions.
In summary, Breather has carved out a significant niche in the office and workspace management industry, providing a practical and adaptable alternative to traditional leasing options. Its "Airbnb for office space" model addresses the modern need for flexibility, catering to a wide audience from large corporations to freelancers. Despite recent challenges due to the pandemic, the platform's ease of use and the breadth of use cases suggest a resilient positioning in the evolving workspace landscape. As businesses continue to adapt to new ways of working, platforms like Breather are likely to play a crucial role in shaping the future of flexible office solutions.
