Others have said Bootstrap already, let me just chime in and point you towards bootswatch (https://bootswatch.com/) , they have great, free themes with great examples, I basically learned bootstrap in large parts by copying example code from their site and tweaking it to my needs / dissecting and trying to understand it. There's no shame for developers in using CSS frameworks like Bootstrap - looks good out of the box and can be customized via SCSS or by modifying pre-made templates like the ones from Bootswatch. Source: over 4 years ago
As a piece of concrete advise, you can use something like Bootstrap, which is already highly theme-able (almost all React component frameworks are highly theme-able, but Bootstrap can be themed with a simple link tag in your HTML), https://bootswatch.com/, so that you can have a consistent UI, while you focus on learning the ropes of React. The way I do it is, use "raw" bootstrap+jquery* for development. And before deplyoing, use themes for beautification e.g. https://bootswatch.com * I am not a front-end developer, so I use the easiest tools for the job. - Source: Hacker News / about 5 years ago
If you've heard of Bootstrap, then you should already know what the Bootswatch project is. For those who do not know, it is simply a collection of free themes for Boostrap. I'm curious about this too. In the past I've used the free themes from Bootswatch: https://bootswatch.com/ e.g. Flatly and Darkly can be swapped in and used as a light/dark theme easily. Also, means your site doesn't look as generic as the base Bootstrap theme. - Source: Hacker News / about 5 years ago

I've tried using pre-built templates and themes before but once I've finished modifying them to match my content, they don't look as good anymore. The thing that works great for me is to... - Source: Hacker News / over 5 years ago
