Are they trying to recreate http://bookmooch.com/ ? Source: about 1 year ago
As an alternative to finding a brick-and-mortar library to donate the book to, there are also online book trading options like Paperback Swap or Bookmooch (both of which I have used extensively in the past). Additionally there is BookCrossing, which lets you simply leave a book anywhere to be found by a stranger, and even track where it travels afterward. Source: about 1 year ago
There’s also http://bookmooch.com/ with a similarly ancient aesthetic. I haven’t used it in years but it was fun when I did. Source: about 1 year ago
List the books on BookMooch. (http://bookmooch.com/). Source: over 1 year ago
I remember this site called http://bookmooch.com (it still exists!) where I used to regularly swap books with others. The site operates on the same concept: you list your books, and then mail them out when someone requests them of you, and of course, you are also free to request books from other members of the site. There is also BookMooch, which I have never used - a friend used it years ago and liked it, but again that's with the caveat that I have no idea what it looks like recently. Http://bookmooch.com/ It's a great way to trade your books with others. And you can pick and choose from others' collections. Plus it's a good way to get rid of any extra books you have lying around. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
Lastly, I have had some success with other language books with BookMooch: http://bookmooch.com/. It's not new books, but sometimes they do have other language books. Source: over 2 years ago

Anyway, my idea is to build some sort of app where people can scan things they're about to throw away and people can find them and use them. And that requires some computer vision/recognition or barcode database. Because computer vision is far away at this point, I'm interested in learning about bar codes and... Source: over 2 years ago
