Mind you between airlines and hotel websites, services like booking.com or airbnb, tripadvisor, klook etc its gotten easier and easier and easier to not only pre book things but pre pay for everything, including guides and entrance fees. So if you know a year ahead of time your exact dates, book everything and pay for it then the $4k you saved for the trip becomes your spending money for the trip. But most... Source: 5 months ago
Others, try using Hotel.com and booking.com in advance, but they are not guaranteed rooms, and almost every year I see people trying to argue with the front desk that they have a reservation. If a hotel is sold out, and you find a room on a 3rd party website, you are responsible for your own misery. Source: 5 months ago
Use booking.com I found a good rate last admin . I forgot my darn hotel though I wont lie lmao that whole week is a blur I can check my email though . Source: 5 months ago
I was planning on listing on houfy and VRBO just because there is no upfront cost so why not? Is there any reason not too? Is there any reason to try booking.com? There are a few other sites I checked out but none of them were even really operating in my area. Source: 5 months ago
I'm getting 166k from Airport to monkey forest in Ubud on booking.com. Source: 5 months ago
I think this general rule of thumb applies to most travel, eg booking hotels through booking.com vs marriott.com. Source: 5 months ago
It seems like every day in this sub I see another 5 discussions on booking.com issues. I always prepay. I skip on to something else if it only allows pay at the property. I feel like if I haven't paid I haven't ensured a reservation and I don't want any check in issues with them giving me a price different that what I booked. Source: 5 months ago
Not to mention the fact that is has no benefits, Stays and Flights are 50-60% more expensive than booking.com or skyscanner. Source: 5 months ago
Finally they responded and says it is "accomodation fee of 5% of total amount" but it is not anywhere in the booking.com :/. Source: 5 months ago
I tried to contact them they didn't answered yet. Also initiated Customer Service chat in booking.com so far no reply. Source: 5 months ago
I experienced this with BDO two days ago, when booking via the Agoda app. I did not expect a foreign transaction fee, since a few weeks ago, I booked some hotels with Agoda using my BPI CC and the amount shown when I paid was the exact amount shown in the SOA. All my previous hotel bookings with booking.com was paid with BPI as well, and there were no additional charges. Source: 5 months ago
Sheesh, that message from booking.com CS sounds like what a scammer would write -- full of grammatical mistakes. I would definitely NOT make payments outside of booking.com. Source: 5 months ago
I know this page is for Airbnb but I can't find a page that talks about booking.com and I have my apartment on both cites, please help me! Source: 5 months ago
Yep, booking.com for me only, I never take the risk of a hostel or an airbnb, sure it's more expensive but I seriously value comfort and quiet on a trip. Source: 5 months ago
Its just what it says on booking.com. If I go to the cancellation section it states there is a $370-ish fee to cancel, rooms non refundable. I paid for 2 nights in full a few weeks ago so im guess its just a broad statement in case someone's card hasnt been charged yet? Source: 5 months ago
Used booking.com. Sadly got sick and cant go but its been paid in full weeks ago. Cancellation fee is $300+. "If you don't show up or cancel, applicable taxes may still be charged by the property" would this be the best option? They have the option to message the home owners for "reduced" cancel fee but I feel like since I've already booked the 2 days and paid, not showing up shouldn't make much of a difference... I had completely dropped the idea of staying in one of the lake rafts because I could only find crazy expensive ones on Booking.com, but I see now there are a few with reasonable prices. Found the guide I think: https://www.reddit.com/r/suratthani/comments/b0o4fa/khao_sok_guide_by_suratthaniexpats/. Source: 5 months ago
So why am I now getting a message from the property manager that I booked with stating that they will be charging me $1746? Does booking.com not include taxes and other hidden fees? How in the world would I know what these fees are if they aren't listed anywhere? BTW I'm not ordering any additional supplements such as an extra bed. Source: 5 months ago
Check out Palm Springs condos. .there are a few in town, near Nimman. -- I booked for 2 weeks with booking.com. Newer builds with great amenities (most rooms have balcony and washing machines, and pool and gym access) , close to Maya and Nimman One, plenty of food/grocery options in the area, plus easy access to activities, as its at a primary road intersection. . . Follow-up question.. Is booking.com the way to go for finding a place or would you recommend a different path? Source: 5 months ago
Always check on tripadvisor. Agoda is great as well. Have no luck with booking.com, mostly scam there since not many vietnamese actually use booking.com. Source: 5 months ago
