  • Does anyone have any tools for tracking down hard to find books?
My first stop is always bookfinder. Doesn't cross-reference every site but it does a good chunk of them. Source: 11 months ago
  • Ideas for a 7 day celebration for my S.O.'s birthday?
If an era (say civil war) go to http://bookfinder.com. Now on the front page click Advanced Search. You can select year of publication. So for civil war I would plug in up to 1900. Source: 11 months ago
  • Where do you find out what a book you’re repurposing is worth?
First you need to learn to grade the book, as value is related directly to condition. Then you can look the book up on bookfinder.com and see what it's worth. But... there's a caveat. There's lots of "script sellers" out there, sellers that don't actually own the book - but which scrape the data, markup the price and offer it for sale, planning to buy it when you do. There's also many utter idiots who will... Source: 11 months ago
  • I’m applying to SJSU for Fall 2024 and I have no idea how I’m going to live out there

Bookfinder.com is pretty good, rounds up a range of different stores. Both new/used and can give prices including shipping to NZ. Source: about 1 year ago
  • What is the best place online to purchase or find historical or rare books for sale?
ABE Books is great for if you're looking for a specific edition (with a dust jacket, for instance). If the title itself is rare, bookfinder.com searches a ton of sites, including Ebay, and consolidates the listings. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Any chance someone has this book I could borrow for the term?
u/Stoneythehorse, that's the cool thing about bookfinder.com they check multiple sites including Biblio and put all the prices (with shipping) onto a single page. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Any chance someone has this book I could borrow for the term?
Hey, I don't have a copy but I do suggest using bookfinder.com to search for the cheapest place if you do buy books. Bookfinder works best with an ISBN so you are looking at exactly the right version, (although paperback and hardcover can have different ISBN) But the cool thing about Bookfinder is that they consolidates the price (including shipping), from places like Ebay, Alibris, Biblio, etc. It is very helpful... • Hey guys, would you recommend lawlessfrench.com for learning the language? What's your opinion on said website based on your experience? Do you know better alternatives regarding websites?
These are the top two online resources that I send my students to. I also strongly recommend English Grammar for Students of French as a supplement as well. You can find some pretty cheap copies through bookfinder.com. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Where do you buy your books?
Amazon. Barnes & Noble (to keep brick & mortar in business), Books-A-Million (ditto), bookfinder.com, ABEBooks, used book stores, Friends of the Library book sales (spring edition in ONE MONTH), the library's perpetual book sale...where DON'T I buy books? Source: about 1 year ago
  • Best single volume edition
Those two editions are in fact from 2004 and no longer in print, though one may still be able to find new copies. Additionally, the black-looking one was published by Houghton Mifflin—the Book Depository listing is mistaken in that regard. I have the HM one, and it's indeed a nice reading copy, though certainly hefty. It's also slipcased, with gilt-edging and large maps. Both are a bit expensive nowadays (around... • Best app for tracking book wish list
Not a literary studies person but I have a huge book wish list and I use a bit of a manual approach. I have a Notion spreadsheet with custom tabs like tags, genre, source of recommendation, priority, and other notes. I also have a tab where I link the book's bookfinder.com page so I can see when a used one pops up for a good price. It's a bit of a hassle because its manual but you can also share the link with anyone. Source: about 1 year ago
  • With this…I’m finally caught up with Blue Exorcist (except for v. 21 which seems to be out of stock everywhere I look)

If you go to bookfinder.com , you can search for the books, set India as shipping destination, and the price (including shipping) for those that send to India should show up. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Reselling Textbooks
Bookfinder.com shows you buyback prices across several websites. I recommend checking there first, then taking those prices to your campus bookstore. Sell to whoever offers the highest price (in cash, never credit) and offers free shipping. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Unnatural History of UCSC
Having only one listing on bookfinder.com indicates that the book is rarely available, so having the one copy sold is not too surprising. I'm sorry that you did not get it, though. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I desperately need your help, Reddit
Https://bookfinder.com does not have any listings for the title, either. Source: over 1 year ago
