  • Building a digital music collection in 2023
Pretty sure Apple Music still let's you but actual music, and it used to be DRM free so you can download and do as you wish with it. They will relentlessly push the subscription service though. Personally, I buy from https://bleep.com/ , I've been using them for well over a decade, I find it excellent for indie and electronic stuff, and still buy random albums from their recommended section if I want to try... - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • finding new music
Check bleep and watmm for new releases or re-issues I might have missed, then look them up on spotify/bandcamp. Source: 10 months ago
  • Best place to find FLAC and other Hi res audio?
Ah, OK. I think you might as well use those suggested elsewhere in this thread. I sometimes go to Hyperion for classical downloads and Presto also have some high bitrate Jazz and rock available. Some independant physical media sellers also offer hi-res WAVs alongside mail order purchases. I used to buy a lot from bleep.com but I don't know what country you're in so all this advice may be useless. Source: about 1 year ago
  • MixTheMusic Alternative?
Bleep.com have a small selection but they dont make them easy to find. Source: about 1 year ago
  • How do you discover new titles ?
Have you tried external sources? Look into the labels the music you like is released on and see what else they have. Or else go up one level and follow a distributor. That helped when the algorithm got stuck in a recommendation valley for me. Will completely depend on your taste but a crowd like https://bleep.com/ who are very eclectic are great for discovery. Old fashioned things like reviewers help as well once... Source: over 1 year ago
  • finally
I wish I bought it on vinyl just for the sake of it way back when it came out - iirc it was my first online purchase on bleep.com (unless they were warp.net or whatever still, back then) - I still have the CD somewhere, and possibly those photos. The "Come on you" sticker is stuck to my guitar :P. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Returnal for Purchase / Download?
It's not longer listed on bleep.com. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Vinyl Shopping
Bleep.com is the same site that aphextwin.warp.net is on. More to the point, WARP Records is who bleep.com is by. Source: over 1 year ago
  • why is so much 2000s idm so unarchived?
Check https://bleep.com/ A lot of early re-releases come around, some with limited releases, just have to be looking out for them. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Where do you like to buy your music
Be careful with 7Digital. I used to buy from there regularly but after noticing some bad sounding files I did some research and found that many of their flac albums are actually mp3 quality. Now I stick to bandcamp.com, prostudiomasters.com, hdtracks.com, bleep.com and boomkat.com but there are a lot more out there with many studios actually running their own digital stores. • Windowlicker 12" @ the Aphex Warp Store
Hello all. I check the Warp store occasionally for restocks of the vinyls (hoping for a Tuss or Druqks reissue) and Windowlicker is available now for $9.99 USD. Just a heads up for anyone looking. Cheaper price brand new than anything I could find on Discogs or eBay and its not available on bleep.com. Source: about 2 years ago
  • AFX Merch :'(
Sidenote: Told everybody not to buy me anything for my birtday because I splurged myself on bleep.com .... Source: over 2 years ago
  • Artist recommendations?
Just run through warp records and check out Bleep. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Any Aphex Twin lovers here?
You can get Collapse at bleep.com as of last week. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Cimmerian Shade and You Give Death a Bad Name Single Cover Art
It was bleep.com, AGAIN. (They release My Raajneesh early last year as well.). Source: over 2 years ago
  • Where do people get their music downloads from?
I usually get my music downloads from Bandcamp, and if the artist doesn't publish on there, I then go on the Quobuz download store. I've also used Bleep in the past, they're UK based, but their selection isn't huge. Source: almost 3 years ago
