  Sometimes at tough times I want to go back to a verse my pastor offered but I usually forget which ones later. I can email him but at 1am I just want to find the verse, read it, and contemplate the situation. More likely is that I'm talking with a friend and they have an issue that I know my Pastor had a verse for and I just can't remember it.   Adam and Eve were not warned of hell. The law of Moses has no mention of it...? Either God is unjust, or your bible contains mistranslations that need to be fixed. Try reading the Young's Literal Translations on biblegateway.com. You'll get a vastly different view of the bible when read literally.   People study the bible for years and don't get everything. It's filled with layers upon layers of truth that are revealed when you're ready for it.   But if Piper is too much for you, I highly suggest asking God for guidance and reading John 5-8, and also 1-3 John. There are a lot of good Bible apps and websites.
