Social recommendations and mentions

We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about Bab.la and what they use it for.
  • where to see a right case for verbs?
Usually, I browse bab.la's Finnish pages for verbs. Example page for rakastaa. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Recommendations for a more nuanced Magyar-English dictionary?
Besides the dictionaries mentioned above, when it comes to online free editions I like https://bab.la/ - it gives you real examples and sentences as well, those can help a lot when it comes to translating. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • How to create anki cards fast from translation sites ?
I have been using Anki for a few months now and it has been a valuable asset in my language learning journey. But creating anki cards takes me so long and I wonder if there is a faster way to do it ? I usually use translation sites like bab.la or google translate. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Hallo; apparently "schildpad" is a de-word not a het-word, but this dictionary says otherwise. Is there any reliable dictionary that is free, for pc, and beginner-friendly? Bedankt.
Whenever I have to translate words from Dutch to English or the other way around I always use bab.la. It also gives you context examples which is great for knowing which word to use when a word has multple translations. Source: about 2 years ago
  • bland? bland annat?
I am using google translate or bab.la and google translate says bland means among, bland annat means including. But when I translate the sentence it says "among other things, they will have to work longer every day and receive a lower salary". Source: over 2 years ago
  • How do you feel about the general quality of the writing in Vikipedio?
It's this first part that is confusing to me, "Ŝi estis konsiderata serioza fare de Baudricourt. . ." I'm pretty sure it's saying that Baudricourt took her seriously, but the wording is weird to me. The definition provided for "fare" by bab.la is "having been done, having been made, in doing.". • Is there a website that find texts based on the word you want to see the most of?
I did a bit of hunting and http://bab.la looks like it does what you want. Source: over 2 years ago
  • confused....
The 'ancient words' are Russian letters, and the cyrillic alphabet is the Russian alphabet (I think). But you should probably use a different site for translating English to Russian, since google isn't good with that. Try using bab.la, I've used it a few times and it seems very informative and accurate. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Stacked adverbs in translation: "Come further up, come further in."
My best guess is, "Venu plue supren, venu plue internen." (I found 'interne' as an adverb form of "in" from bab.la.). Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Vad gör dessa för skillnaden: verkligen, egentligen, faktiskt
My tip would be to try searching for them on bab.la. It's an online dictionary that I find great myself. They almost always have example sentences for the words you look up. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Best online dictionary?
Depends. I used lektorek.org for a long time, also bab.la and Reverso Context. Wiktionary comes through sometimes. Often I just use monolingual Polish dictionaries, if there's any uncertainty you can always just Google Translate the entry. Polish wiktionary is pretty good, or just google " słownik" to get a Polish dictionary entry. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Can broken Swedish (to someone who's fluent in it) be fixed when read, like how broken English can?
An SFI teacher recommended bab.la to me and it seems to be quite useful for this (but of course not perfect). It provides context based examples (scroll down to context sentences section) for a given word, so you can see how native speakers tend to apply a given word, which can be useful if there are multiple definitions for the same word. • E-mail-udfordring: Hjemve (ugens tema)
Some of the bab.la phrases are a bit off. Source: over 3 years ago
