  • Is AWS Landing Zone Accelerator any good?
I think it’s been superseded by Control Tower, right? Landing Zones solutions refer to the days when there wasn’t an actual service that did account vending and policy. Https://aws.amazon.com/controltower/. Source: 8 months ago
  • Receiving Slack notifications when CloudTrail logging gets turned off
Amazon CloudTrail is the surveillance camera for our accounts. It records every API call that any users or roles make. If we have multiple accounts set up in AWS Organizations, we can create a central trail in the management account. We can then enable logging to all accounts and all regions. Or, if we use Control Tower to set up the account structure, we don't need to do anything because it will automatically... - Source: dev.to / 11 months ago

  • Testing your Landing Zone when using AWS Deployment Framework
Build your own… In this post I am focussing on ADF. The benefit of ADF over AWS Control Tower is that you have more control over the framework. All resources run in your accounts and are under your control. AWS Control Tower is a managed service by AWS. Giving less flexibility but remove maintenance burden. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
  • An AWS account just for getting into other AWS accounts

  • Use IAM Identity Center (AWS SSO) to protect your Cloudfront served application
You might have set-up your AWS Accounts using Control Tower with Organizations and are managing your members using IAM Identity Center (Successor to AWS Single-Sign-On). • Build a Multi-Account Management Environment with AWS Control Tower
AWS Control Tower is a service that allows you to build a secure AWS multi-account management environment. Since AWS Organizations and AWS SSO are set up automatically, it is easier than manually creating accounts. I have used this service at my company and found it convenient, so I decided to use it for my account this time. In my account, I have additionally built and managed production, staging, development,... - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
  • Setting up a multi-account AWS environment
In terms of tooling, AWS provide AWS Organizations, to help centrally manage and govern multiple accounts. They also provide a higher level service in AWS Control Tower that stitches together underlying services like AWS Organizations, AWS SSO, CloudTrail and others. This is the simplest approach if you are looking for a hands-off way to set up your environment through clicking in the AWS Console. However, for... - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago

Control Tower works in conjunction with AWS Organizations, which enables the creation and management of multiple AWS accounts under a single master account. You can use Control Tower in conjunction with AWS Service Catalog to offer your dev stack as a service catalog offering that developers can install into their accounts. You can even go one step farther and deploy... - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
  • What is Control Tower ?
AWS Control Tower offers the easiest way to set up and govern a secure, multi-account AWS environment. It establishes a landing zone that is based on best-practices blueprints, and it enables governance using guardrails you can choose from a pre-packaged list. The landing zone is a well-architected, multi-account baseline that follows AWS best practices. Guardrails implement governance rules for security,... Source: over 2 years ago
  • A little help required with an architecture question if I may
Be sure to check out Control Tower if you haven't. That might give you some direction, and as a managed service it's pretty easy to use. Similarly, look into Landing Zone. I think Landing Zones, as a concept, is very useful (and probably what you're looking at), although I have yet to find a solution worth implementing. Source: almost 3 years ago
