• Audible.com or audiobooks.com?

  It's been a couple years since I last looked into audiobooks.com, but I recall that Audible had the advantage on selection and also by having the (limited) option of returning books. The option to return books was pretty important to me. Source: about 1 year ago

• Audible doesn't let me buy Sharp Ends, tells me it's out of my region, but I've already bought all the other books in the series.

  Try a different supplier? Not sure what there is in the US. My alternative is audiobooks.com or Scribd. You could also try the library, I know some of them rent audiobooks. Source: over 1 year ago

• Is there an audiobook service where I can pay for the subscription and stream books without buying them? Why do I have to pay for the service just to allow me to pay for audio books?

  Audiobooks.com You get 1 credit a month, which can either be used to purchase a book (that you can listen to any time) or you can use it for a 1 month membership to an all you can listen to club. They have several clubs - Romance, Religion, Mystery, etc, and for that month you can listen to as many books as you want that are included in that club.   Hello! I learn pretty well via audio and would love to incorporate it more into my MCAT studying schedule. I heard there exists a Kaplan biochemistry Audible book, but it is no longer offered by them. There is a "Kaplan MCAT Biochemistry Audio Review" listed on audiobooks.com, but it seems like a dubious website with some consumer complaints about hidden charges and it being hard to cancel the free trial...   Overtime I suspect this will end up being the downfall of Audible. A few years back, Audible was pretty much the only option for audiobooks. Now, in addition to the free ones that you can easily get through your library, there's a growing number of alternatives that are getting better - such as audiobooks.com and Libro.fm.   I suddenly remembered something else: If she enjoys books, you could get her a membership in Audible.com or audiobooks.com. Listening to books on my phone is awesome.
