Overtime I suspect this will end up being the downfall of Audible. A few years back, Audible was pretty much the only option for audiobooks. Now, in addition to the free ones that you can easily get through your library, there's a growing number of alternatives that are getting better - such as audiobooks.com and Libro.fm. I suddenly remembered something else: If she enjoys books, you could get her a membership in Audible.com or audiobooks.com. Listening to books on my phone is awesome.
