  You're looking at the top 5% in terms of length and quoting it like it's the norm. If you take a look at places anichart it's easy to see that there are way more shorter shows than longer ones; at a quick glance over the last year I count 5 new seasons for shows that are as long or longer than FMA:B out of 158 new shows listed (so even if we add in the long-running constants Anichart doesn't list like One Piece...
