Software Alternatives & Reviews

I have a question to ask about a very serious and personal topic to me. I am not exactly sure if r/pcmasterrace is the best place to ask this question, but I am sure y’all will lead me to the right answers/place!

OBS Studio YouTube Studio
  1. Free and open source software for video recording and live streaming for Mac, Windows and Linux.
    Pricing:
    • Open Source
    • Free
Before I answer your questions: Based on the language you used I assume you’re using Streamlabs Desktop, formerly called Streamlabs OBS. This is a program developed by the Streamlabs company off of a fork of OBS Studio. In my experience, OBS Studio is better for video recording purposes, and Streamlabs is better for livestreaming (e.g. Twitch). However, I am slightly biased so take that with a grain of salt.

  2. Share your videos with friends, family, and the world.
If you decide to go down the YouTube route (which I would recommend), you’ll need to “set up” your Creator account (its just a one-click thing in YouTube’s setting iirc) and then go to YouTube Studio (the app or the website), where you can hit the “Create” button to upload videos. When uploading the video you’ll have the option to select settings, including upload quality and visibility status.
