Ironically you're better off with a Google Pixel, because more of it is open source, ie Trusty OS, and then you can also benefit from GrapheneOS which is the gold standard as far as third party Android OSes go. You don't have to give up verified boot or run around with unlocked bootloader. The Pixel is also a device that supports user settable keys.
