  2. High-quality PBR textures for free to everyone, with no catch.
    I think we'll continue to see an increased use of AI, such as for texture synthesis (including PBR material maps). There are pretty interesting services you can try out such as BariumAI. However, I think AI texture synthesis works best to create materials that don't exist in real life, or only in limited form. There's already a lot of freely licensed PBR material libraries, with a very high level of quality compared to what was available 10 years ago. Audio synthesis from a prompt could be a very interesting subject to explore, especially as creating high-quality SFX from scratch is an arduous process (much more so than textures). There's probably been a few experiments in this direction already, but I haven't followed this closely.

  4. FPS game and engine
    I remain impressed by how fast iterating on levels is in Cube 2 engine games such as Sauerbraten, but an octree approach to level design also comes with its own limits. I don't think this approach to editing would be a good fit for Godot, but it's interesting nonetheless.
