    There is a chance the computers might not allow this, but I have always been curious if this would be a viable option. You could try getting a really cheap flash drive and loading something like NomadBSD or some other linux distro and boot off that. The benefit is you can customize the dev environment to your liking and keep some of your files local on their as well as GitHub. You would also gain some Linux/BSD experience which is really valuable knowledge to have.
