FYI I am using hostgator.com as host and installing WP 6.0 using Softaculous. I have tried various themes and am having the same problem with any/all of the themes I have tried.

I have tried a few times to create a WP blog and every time the install fails to create a home page (index.html). All the other default pages are there and I can add and remove pages, but I cannot find a way to create the dang index page. My only suspicion is that this might be happening because I am installing in a subdirectory of my domain (mydomain.com/wp/) rather than in the root (mydomain.com).
