Airbnb is generally considered a good platform for finding unique, affordable accommodations, but experiences may vary.
We have collected here some useful links to help you find out if Airbnb is good.
Check the traffic stats of Airbnb on SimilarWeb. The key metrics to look for are: monthly visits, average visit duration, pages per visit, and traffic by country. Moreoever, check the traffic sources. For example "Direct" traffic is a good sign.
Check the "Domain Rating" of Airbnb on Ahrefs. The domain rating is a measure of the strength of a website's backlink profile on a scale from 0 to 100. It shows the strength of Airbnb's backlink profile compared to the other websites. In most cases a domain rating of 60+ is considered good and 70+ is considered very good.
Check the "Domain Authority" of Airbnb on MOZ. A website's domain authority (DA) is a search engine ranking score that predicts how well a website will rank on search engine result pages (SERPs). It is based on a 100-point logarithmic scale, with higher scores corresponding to a greater likelihood of ranking. This is another useful metric to check if a website is good.

Mars seemed like an awesome platform for me, but it's just a tool, the same as many others. If I want to build a ToDo list on Mars I need somebody to develop such a micro-app for me. Then I did a simple approximation on bigger products: an e-commerce store like Amazon, service marketplaces like Booksy or Renting platform like Airbnb. - Source: dev.to / about 3 years ago
Hey everyone, I'm attending to SPA in July 28-30 this year. And I'm looking for a campsite, most of them are already booked by now. So I've found https://spafamilycamping.com/ I'm wondering if this website and place is legit. They are not on booking.com or airbnb.com and they charge 50โฌ per night. Source: about 3 years ago
Any tips on finding a place to stay, considering everything on booking.com and airbnb.com is either all taken or quite far away. Is there maybe a local website or a motel that isn't on those websites? Source: about 3 years ago
I'm in the US and just popped over to airbnb.com to check -- there's a very prominent toggle that says "Display total price: includes all fees, before taxes". Source: over 3 years ago
If you want, you can try using the chrome extension I am developing (its completely free). What it does is it while you are searching through booking.com or airbnb.com it looks for the direct link of the same place. Source: over 3 years ago
Hey! Me and a friend are developing a Chrome extension that looks for the direct links in hotels and airbnbs while you are searching on general sites such as airbnb.com or booking.com. Source: over 3 years ago
I would avoid the large hotels. Most of them are like hotels everywhere, and you'll probably end up with large tourist groups, bus trips, etc. Much better to find out where you want to stay and search on booking.com and airbnb.com. There are also many "rorbuer" (small fishermen's huts). Some are super cozy, others are not. Some are just modern cabins sort-of designed to look traditional. Read reviews and look at... You can find cheaper, yet comfortable accommodations for your travels. Look for hostels or budget-friendly guesthouses which you can find on Airbnb. Source: over 3 years ago
Go to airbnb.com and look on the map at, say, the Oregon coast, and pick a remote one. Source: over 3 years ago
As with everything in development, there are tradeoffs. In this case, we seem to Have simplified our state by complicating it. Obviously, this is overkill for a Counter app with a random input field and a light/dark mode toggle. But as our Apps grow, we'll find that this pattern, while heavy on the setup, simplifies Overall. For example, take a look at this state tree from Airbnb. Or, head to Airbnb.com and... - Source: dev.to / over 3 years ago
Go to airbnb.com and on the front page , just under the drop down menus, you will see a bunch of types of properties. If you click on the arrow to the right, "castles" will be one of the options. Click on that and a ton of real castles with indoor and outdoor photos will show up with prices for renting rooms, etc...You can choose what country and so on. Happy Hunting! Source: over 3 years ago
That is an excellent question. I used airbnb.com when traveling for work. Sometimes you can find a room for as little as $35 per day. I prefer airbnb to hotels because sometimes hotels are less clean than people's homes. Source: over 3 years ago
Airbnb: The popular travel and lodging website uses React.js for their user interface. - Source: dev.to / over 3 years ago
Looking at airbnb or vrbo ticks me off, as they have made it a normal thing to ask for 7 different types of extra fees, or exorbitant cleaning fees in exchange for lower rates. Source: over 3 years ago
On your listing, on airbnb.com, I only have the option to reserve a stay between January 28th and March 1st. Source: over 3 years ago
Killington is the largest and most popular resort in the Eastern US and probably best for nightlife but I think Sugarbush and Jay Peak have better skiing overall. You can arrange accommodations through the resort's website, but many people will rent a condominium or house via airbnb.com or vrbo.com or through a private hotel/inn's website should one exist. (tripadvisor.com is good for hotel ratings in a given... Source: over 3 years ago
Thanks. Where do I find the long term cancellation policy? I've searched on airbnb.com but the links keep looping me back to this https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/245/. Source: over 3 years ago
I doubt you'll find anything with that budget in Valletta, with a terrace/washing machine/ and kitchenette. Check what's available on booking.com / airbnb.com to get an idea of what the prices are like. Source: over 3 years ago
I would suggest seeing if there are any openings on booking.com or airbnb.com. If you have some luck, you can find a really low rate room to sleep in (not the entire house or apartment). Then you can try to use a Pay-in-4 service like Klarna, Affirm or Paypal to book the room and pay the first installment tonight. Ideally, you'd want to find something around $40 and pay $10 tonight. If you don't have $10, turn on... Source: over 3 years ago
"BUT WHY?" I asked. "I already uploaded my state ID to airbnb.com. Isn't this why your company earns 15% for doing nothing? So I don't have to expose my personal data to your hosts, who are (justifiably) concerned about safety?". Source: over 3 years ago
I would search stantonamarlberg.com booking.com expedia.com airbnb.com and whatever else you normally use for hotel/travel search. If you are driving there, you can widen the search beyond main St. Anton am Arlberg area and should be able to find something cheaper than โฌ1200 for two people for 6 nights. Source: over 3 years ago
Airbnb, a dominant figure in the travel and vacation rental landscape, is renowned for its innovative approach in connecting travelers with unique accommodations. As a major player competing with industry giants like Booking.com, Expedia, and Vrbo, Airbnb has carved out a niche in offering alternative lodging experiences that range from single rooms in a home to entire luxury properties. The platformโs commitment to diversity in offerings and cultivating local, authentic experiences has garnered substantial public attention.
Unique and Authentic Experiences: Airbnb is widely praised for its ability to provide unique stays and immersive experiences that go beyond traditional hospitality. This is reflected in its diverse array of lodging options, from single rooms to entire homes, appealing to travelers seeking a more personal and authentic experience. In the travel context, particularly concerning Ireland, Airbnb emerges as a convenient choice for those who prefer the flexibility of browsing accommodations via its user-friendly app.
Visual Appeal: The platform's emphasis on vivid, high-quality imagery is noted to enhance the user experience, providing potential guests with a comprehensive visual understanding of their prospective stay and surrounding attractions. This feature is particularly appreciated by travelers using Airbnb for inspiration in planning their trips.
Pricing and Fees: Despite its advantages, Airbnb faces criticism over its pricing structure, notably concerning the additional fees that can accompany bookings. Some users express frustration over cleaning fees and other charges that detract from the platform's perceived value, even when baseline prices appear competitive. This has led to some users considering cheaper or more transparent alternative platforms.
Host and Guest Experiences: The dynamics between hosts and guests can vary significantly, influencing opinions on Airbnbโs efficacy in addressing host concerns and guest satisfaction. Issues such as difficulty in obtaining reimbursements for host damages and policies perceived as lacking transparency are cited concerns for some users. Conversely, several hosts cherish the personal connections formed through hosting via Airbnb, highlighting the challenges presented by shifts in hosting trends in specific regions.
Market Presence and Saturation: Thereโs a noted shift in market dynamics with the emergence of numerous Airbnb competitors and alternatives. The landscape is crowded with a plethora of platforms offering similar services, prompting some travelers to explore alternatives better tailored to their needs or budget constraints. Sites like Vrbo are noted for catering more to group and family travelers, given their focus on full-property rentals as opposed to shared spaces.
Transparency in Listings: To address user concerns, Airbnb has introduced features like a toggle for viewing total prices, including fees before taxes, enhancing booking transparency. Additionally, they aim to improve guest experiences by providing clearer information on host-required checkout chores and removing listings with consistently poor reviews.
Technological Footprint: Airbnb continues to leverage technology to improve user experience, including its adoption of React.js for efficient interface design. This technological backbone supports Airbnbโs scalability and adaptability, ensuring a seamless interactive experience for its global user base.
Overall, Airbnbโs position in the market remains strong due to its unique appeal and technological innovations, despite facing challenges in pricing transparency and increasing competition. The platform's ability to continuously adapt and respond to both consumer praise and criticism is crucial in maintaining its competitive edge in the holiday rental industry.
