Features & Specs

  1. Privacy Protection

AdNauseam helps protect user privacy by obfuscating browsing behavior. It automatically clicks on all ads in the background, making it difficult for trackers to build a precise profile of the user's preferences and interests.

  2. Ethical Ad Blocking

Instead of merely blocking ads, AdNauseam introduces a confusing signal for advertisers by clicking all ads. This approach undermines tracking-based advertising revenues ethically.

  3. Open Source

AdNauseam is open-source software, which allows for greater transparency. Users and developers can inspect the code, contribute to its development, and ensure there are no hidden malicious functionalities.

  4. Enhanced Browsing Experience

By blocking ads and preventing trackers, AdNauseam can help speed up page loading times and reduce clutter, providing a cleaner and faster browsing experience.

We need to make ads cost more than they are worth - here's one small way (what are others?): https://adnauseam.io/. - Source: Hacker News / 9 days ago
  • uBlock Origin is no longer available on the Chrome Store
The adblock I use[0] (based on uBlock) hasn't been available on the Chrome store nearly since day 1. [0] https://adnauseam.io/. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago

  • Do cookie-free analytics need cookie banners?
    > https://adnauseam.io/ I'm not sure this is a good thing. Wouldn't this make advertiser's think their ads are doing better than they are? Which would then encourage them to advertise even more? - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
  • Do cookie-free analytics need cookie banners?
This whole cookie banner situation is a disaster. Companies know that you will not accept their cookies and have decided to use the "legitimate interest" loop hole. So if you select reject all cookie, the legitimate interest ones are not rejected unless you go an uncheck them manually. https://old.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/1cn306c/not_consenting_to_imgur_cookies/ Here is an example of what I am... - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago

  • SponsorBlock – skip sponsor segments on YouTube
I would rather expect an extension like AdNauseam[1] which automatically play the advertisement muted in background. [1]: https://adnauseam.io/. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago

Reminder to use AdNauseum [1] that will not only hide the ads but also click it, messing with targeting and spending advertisers' money at the same time. [1] https://adnauseam.io/. - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago

  • Escaping Surveillance Capitalism, at Scale
    > I've used https://adnauseam.io/ for years. It's great. No it isn't. It does nothing to make your data worthless. You're only giving data brokers more ammo to use against you. See my comment here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=39043547#39044239. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Escaping Surveillance Capitalism, at Scale
I've used https://adnauseam.io/ for years. It's great. First, it hides (most of) the ads making the internet more tolerable. Then it clicks on ALL of them making your profile worthless. The last time I pulled up my Google profile, it said I was a 18-99yo, both male and female, and was interested in EVERY topic they listed. It works in both Brave and Chrome but isn't available in the Chrome Extension Store for some... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Firefox on the Brink?
They also don't ban and lie about anti-tracking extensions like AdNausium (a data poisoning adblocker[0]). Chrome banned it from their store. As well as other extensions like Bypass Paywalls Clean. Ultimately the Firefox addon ecosystem is simply freer [0] https://adnauseam.io/. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Show HN: YouTube banned adblockers so I built an extension to skip their ads

  • Bear Does Analytics with CSS
I never said anything about access logs, I specifically mentioned this CSS trick that will become popular for ad companies to track people. For this, this would need to block the endpoint or send obfuscated data deliberately in protest of this. Should you want to cover access logs also, then forms of tracking then sending excessive, random obfuscation data with adnauseam would also help here.... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Bear Does Analytics with CSS
How would one block this from tracking you? I think we would either need to send fake data to these analytics tools deliberately like https://adnauseam.io/ Or now include CSS as a spy tracker that needs to be blocked. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Youtube ad bypass?
Tho adnauseum is banned from google extension store so get it here instead https://adnauseam.io oh I only use these ublock filters https://i.imgur.com/vlfdi3e.png Make sure unbreak is updated too it patches the blocking on youtubes end. Source: over 1 year ago
  • How does YouTube know that I'm using AdBlock?
Detect missing ads. simple. https://adnauseam.io/ it still works fine undetected. Its a fork of ublock origin. Source: over 1 year ago
