Https://getadblock.com/en/ This one works fine with me on Opera GX. You can go to your browser's web store, like the Chrome Web Store and download one. If you switch to a browser like Brave or Opera GX, you can have a built-in one, which is easier. Source: over 2 years ago

This issue just appeared today, I've never seen it before. I'm using NordVPN with kill switch enabled, and I already checked with https://www.iplocation.net/ and http://checkmyip.torrentprivacy.com/ to confirm I'm routing all traffic through the VPN. I tried getting a new IP from Nord, but it still didn't fix it. I'm using this ad block plugin in chrome https://getadblock.com/en/ , so I don't think this is an ad. Source: over 2 years ago

In the increasingly saturated market of ad blockers, AdBlock maintains a prominent presence, garnering significant public attention and largely favorable opinions. As evident through various user feedback and industry analysis, the consensus highlights AdBlock's efficacy and user-friendly nature as primary attributes that continue to attract a substantial user base.
AdBlock remains a dominant player in the ad-blocking industry, frequently noted in 'best of' lists such as the "10 Best Ad Blockers in 2024." Its appeal lies in its ability to effectively remove intrusive ads, including pop-ups and video ads, across multiple platformsโa feature that ensures a seamless browsing experience. Notably, AdBlock is reported to operate successfully on major streaming services like YouTube, a challenging feat for many other ad blockers. This capability is particularly appreciated by users who consume large amounts of video content, as highlighted in numerous testimonials and reviews.
AdBlock is praised for its simplicity and ease of use, qualities that resonate well with both technologically savvy users and those less experienced. The consistent feedback underscores its straightforward interface, which efficiently addresses ad removal without overwhelming users with complex configurations. Additionally, AdBlockโs availability across various browsersโincluding Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safariโenhances its accessibility, making it a versatile solution for a wide array of users. The extension's participation in the โAcceptable Adsโ initiative also offers a balance for users who wish to support websites by allowing certain non-intrusive advertisements while maintaining overall ad-blocking capability.
When compared to its competitorsโsuch as AdGuard, uBlock Origin, and Adblock PlusโAdBlock is often positioned as a reliable choice, despite certain limitations. For instance, while its competitors like uBlock Origin are touted for extensive configurability, AdBlock is recognized for striking a balance between functionality and user accessibility. Users often distinguish it from similar-sounding products like AdBlock Plus by its unique logo and direct branding, which add to its market identity.
Despite its positive reception, AdBlock is not without criticism. One notable point of contention involves its resource usage; reports suggest it may become resource-intensive when numerous tabs are open. Additionally, some users have noted variability in its effectiveness on platforms like YouTube, although this does not significantly detract from its overall performance perception.
Overall, AdBlock's sustained popularity amidst fierce competition is a testament to its reliable performance and user-centric design. While it faces competition from other leading ad blockers, it remains a favored choice for many users seeking an effective, no-frills solution to enhance their browsing experience by minimizing unwanted ad interruptions.
