    A great i18n collaborative platform

AFFiNE is a local-first, privacy-focussed, open-source knowledge management software. So we wanted to find an open-source solution for our translation and localisation needs, and that's where Tolgee comes in.

Not only is the software super straight forward to use, they offer extensive support. From free cloud tiers for other open-source software and the ability to self-host our own Tolgee instance.

Their team have been very friendly and easy to reach, taking on our feedback and ideas to help improve the Tolgee experience for everyone.

We look forward to work more with Tolgee and grow the ecosystem of open-source tools to a more wider audience.

    ๐Ÿ‘ Pros:    User-friendly|Great customer support|Proactive|Constantly improving|Friendly and safe community
    ๐Ÿ‘Ž Cons:    Some missing features

Its distinctive offerings and functionalities have positioned it as a noteworthy competitor among industry rivals such as Crowdin, Lokalise, Weblate, and Phrase. Public opinion and professional assessments present Tolgee as both a practical and innovative solution for localization challenges.

A key aspect highlighted in discussions about Tolgee is its ability to seamlessly integrate into the development lifecycle. This attribute is particularly appreciated because it negates the necessity for developers to be involved in the localization process post-development. By using Tolgee's integration libraries and deploying an instance, translators can conveniently edit localization texts within the web application context. This integration syncs with the Tolgee server via REST API, streamlining the workflow for both developers and translators.

Multiple accounts underscore Tolgeeโ€™s user-friendly experience and comprehensive toolset. Posts praise its features such as in-context translation and automatic screenshot generation, enhancing the ease with which developers and translators can manage localization. Moreover, the platformโ€™s adaptability is evidenced by its ongoing enhancements, such as potential integrations with AI models like ChatGPT to improve translation accuracy.

Feedback within the developer community often praises Tolgee's flexibility and adaptability, citing its ability to export files in formats such as .json or .xliff. Such functionality is seen as a substantial improvement over traditional methods, such as using Excel for translation management.
