  • Gryphmail completely gone???
It seems like there might be an issue for the UofG site that had the direct link to GryphMail. However, this is not the only way to access your school email. You can go to Outlook and sign in through there with you @uoguelph.ca address โ€” this method works and I was able to access my GryphMail today. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Email activation
If you've paid your confirmation deposit your email should be created (it can sometimes take 2-3 days). If you've activated your identikey you should be able to log in at https://outlook.live.com/owa/. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Whats your favourite app that can work as a calendar and also effectively time-block out tasks?
In** 2013** the company I worked for decided that everyone needed to move to Microsoft. We all started to use Outlook and the rest of the Office suite. I really liked the Outlook calendar on the desktop as I could schedule tasks and calendar items (with a little tweaking). Unfortunately, that did not translate to mobile. So I began using paper printouts of my day to stay on task whenever I was away from my PC. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Power BI Training
You also need a Power BI subscription for some of the labs. You can setup a free Microsoft 365 E5 trial here. Pro Tip: Don't use your real email address when setting up the trial. Create a free dummy email here. That way you can setup another free trial using a different dummy email address once the free trial runs out. Source: almost 4 years ago
  • is there a way to get just excel and not get 365??
Itโ€™s free with the free version of Outlook. Kinda bare bones but works for most functions. Https://outlook.live.com/owa/. Source: about 4 years ago
  • Any IT shops that can help with Outlook?
Alternatively, can you try logging in through " https://outlook.live.com/owa/ " using your phone's web browser to see whether it works? Source: about 4 years ago
  • Regarding DDG issue on MS trackers: I hope Brave has not any agreement with MS
A good new is that Brave Browser blocks 2 items in https://outlook.live.com/owa/ (tested today). But since recent update of Brave it doesn't allow to see what did Brave block. Source: about 4 years ago
  • Suggestions for a free email service that looks more professional than gmail for use on a resume?
Outlook is probably the most professional looking free email. Plus it has a mobile app, in case you need to check emails on the go. Source: about 4 years ago
  • Outlook Working Offline- Five Ultimate Fixes You Need.
Working offline is a standard feature of Outlook. Itโ€™s often erroneously interpreted by users as an indicator that the program is never going to be able to communicate with the network. Source: about 4 years ago
  • Outlook 2010 on Windows. Test emails work. Cannot send regular emails.
Log into your hotmail account via the web interface. (hotmail.com now redirects to: https://outlook.live.com/owa/). Source: over 4 years ago
  • [ROLEPLAY] Pale Horse, Pale Rider II
This case was no different. His handler had sent him a new bounty via Outlook which was the preferred method of communication of new targets. Like all bounty sheets there was a bevy of information, name, aliases, crime, associates, etc. The Hamil Alsilah did not care about these particulars he cared only for three things, crime, bounty, and the targets face. Summary of the public mentions of Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook, a stalwart in the domain of email clients and calendar services, has garnered varied public opinion based on recent discussions and reviews. Here's a consolidated view of its standing:

Strengths

  1. Integration and Availability: Microsoft Outlook is often lauded for its seamless integration within the Microsoft Office suite, offering a familiar interface and easy configurability with IMAP and POP3 accounts. This integration is particularly advantageous for users already embedded in the Microsoft ecosystem, offering a unified experience with other Microsoft applications like Word and Excel.

  2. Functionality and Features: Outlook's functionality extends beyond mere email service, providing users with calendar, task management, notes, and contact toolsโ€”all within a single interface. This makes it not just an email client but a comprehensive personal information manager. Its ability to attach documents directly from cloud storage and its robust spam filtering capabilities are additional commendable features.

  3. Professional Appeal: For users seeking a professional email appearance, Outlook is often considered superior to free services like Gmail due to its formal presentation and feature-rich environment. This aspect is especially appreciated for professional scenarios such as job applications or business communications.

Areas for Improvement

  1. Security Concerns: Despite Microsoftโ€™s efforts to safeguard user data, notable security vulnerabilities have marred Outlook's reputation. A recent issue involving a critical vulnerability allowed unauthorized access to user passwords, raising concerns about data protection. This has led some users to explore competitors with a stronger security track record.

  2. User Experience Challenges: Users have faced difficulties with Outlook's password recovery process and have reported issues with managing tasks effectively. The complexity of its interface, especially when it gives precedence to exchange accounts, can be a hindrance for those looking for a more streamlined workflow. Additionally, the mobile version does not fully mirror the desktop's comprehensive features.

  3. Calendar and Task Management: While Outlook serves as an integrated planner, combining tasks and calendar functions, some users find its task management lacking compared to dedicated apps. The interface for scheduling and appointment management sometimes gets bogged down by an overload of features that complicate rather than simplify the experience.

Market Position and Competition

In the competitive landscape, Outlook faces strong contenders such as Gmail and Google Calendar, which offer streamlined experiences, and ProtonMail, known for its focus on security. Alternatives like Thunderbird and Mailbird appeal to users seeking simpler or more customizable interfaces. Nonetheless, Outlook maintains a significant user base due to its expansive features and integration capabilities, particularly within corporate environments.

Conclusion

Overall, Microsoft Outlook remains a formidable player in the email and calendar arena, providing a range of functionalities that cater to both personal and professional needs. However, its success hinges on addressing security vulnerabilities and refining the user experience to maintain user trust and appeal amidst evolving expectations in digital communication tools.
