This might get you a better chance: 1.)Go to figma.com, or paint if you so choose and make a mockup of what the app would look like 2.) Try to figure out who the person would be that uses your app and then try to get feedback from them through subreddit, so like r/cooking for an app about cooking. Bootstrap has been mentioned and is a great starting point. They have many examples that have probably been the starting points for many apps. Material Design is also interesting and reading through their docs actually helped me understand some ui elements better than I had previously. Start poking around.
