7 Best 3D Modeling Programs Like SketchUp | EASY RENDER
Blender isn’t quite as straightforward in terms of toolset as SketchUp, but it’s pretty darn close. But, that’s an easy concession to make when you consider everything else the program offers. Not only is it a proper 3D modeler, it has a fully integrated rendering engine that stands tall against programs like vRay, Maxwell, or Lumion. Blender is a one-stop-shop that...

  • Do Unity 3D have some pros against strong 3D in Unreal?
So you consider an engine "professional" if your favourite big PC games run on it? What sort of logic is this? I suppose enterprise-geared engines like UEngine aren't "professional" either because they aren't popular with game developers? - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
  • What software should I use to create the fabric of space?
Since you're new to programming I hesistate to recommend this, but Unigine is a good fit for what you want to do -- it's developed for simulations, has a killer physics engine that can do all that stuff, and is very good at replicating real-world environments. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago

Blender mentions (37)

  • How does blender work with M1 mbp’s?
Just download the mac version on blender.org. Hopefully your mac book has the right specs to give you a wonderful experience. - Source: Reddit / 3 days ago
  • I'm not the best at using Krita, but had fun with this one. Any tips on how to make glass a bit more shiny?
i'm not nearly as good at drawing, so what I know is from using 3D modelling programs. What you could do is increase the roughness of the surface, which makes the reflection blurrier and the light spread out more. I think this wikipedia article onspecular reflection might help a bit? - Source: Reddit / 16 days ago
  • I made this. You can have one too! (Link in comments)
That's nice of you. I higly reccomend Blender for anyone wanting to learn. Blender is 100% free and open source and there are mountains of free tutorials online. Models can be exported to .stl format which any slicer (I use Cura) can read. - Source: Reddit / 22 days ago
  • Am I crazy to think that there should be a default built-in material library? We're all developing the same materials over and over
Current plan is for there to be a default "asset pack" that either ships with blender or will be available directly from blender.org. I believe it will be made sometime after the asset browser is complete for blender 3.0. https://code.blender.org/2021/06/asset-browser-project-update/#:\~:text=blender.org%20Asset%20Bundle. - Source: Reddit / 23 days ago
  • Blender not running
Go onto blender.org and download it over there. The steam version has always felt a bit slower than the steam version. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
