  • Tell HN: Correct Result for "Google Books" in Bing but Not in Google
Searching for "google books" in google leads to https://books.google.com/ which no longer allows you to read any of your books. https://play.google.com/books is the site to read your purchased books now. Google search does not show https://play.google.com/books in its results at all. Thought it was some weird personalization quirk, but seems others have had the same issue:... - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • Google Play Books is down for uploaded books
I'm hoping that it's just some kind of server outage but it's been down since around 7pm yesterday. https://play.google.com/books. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • How to get Docs on Kindle Cloud Reader?
It’s not ideal, but you can try using Google Play Books in your internet browser to read your ePub files. The URL is https://play.google.com/books and there doesn’t seem to be a limit to how many files you can upload. I use it as a way to back up all my files to the cloud as well as to read on computers where I don’t want to have to download any programs. Source: about 1 year ago
  • The only Quran app that work in dual screen mood in Duo
You do have to cloud upload it and then it syncs to all your devices. Which also means you can use play.google.com/books on your PC and mass-upload all your books. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Physical or digital for light novels? Longevity?
In general, the best solution for ensuring that you have your books (and have them in good condition) in the long run is to buy digital books and then remove the DRM (assuming that you can't buy them DRM-free in the first place, though most publishers don't do that). You can then back up the files however you like to ensure that they stick around. Unfortunately, that's becoming much harder to do with Kindle books... Source: about 1 year ago

  • Warp[vz network] Data accounting does not match reality
I kept going back and forth and the rep kept stating the amount listed on usmobile.com, and inside the app, as the current month's data usage did NOT include hotspot data, and that the hotspot data is what drove me over 100GB. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Looking for new carriers?
Can you specify what plan you are on with Mint? Try tello.com they have custom plans to match your needs. Or try usmobile.com, their pooled plan starts at $9 for Unlimited Talk / Text + $2 per GB of data on either Verizon or T-Mobile network. Taxes included for US Mobile on pooled plans only. Tello charges no fees except for taxes (no recovery fees like Mint, service fee, etc.) If you want other options with... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Why is it so difficult to understand data usage with US Mobile?
Would you or anyone at US Mobile be able to expalin why the App shows different information than the web (http://usmobile.com)? Source: about 1 year ago
  • In my opinion, AT&T's website design needs a major overhaul.
Someone mentioned Verizon. I currently use them for wireless; they are not quite as bad. (Better performance, better navigation, less buggy). But the real winners here are some of the MVNOs (like US Mobile or Google Fi). Source: over 1 year ago
  • porting number
There are far better deals with MVNOs. If she's a heavy data user, US Mobile provides 100GB of "premium" data on Verizon for $45/month (plus about $5 in taxes); less with single lines. They have many cheaper plans for less data use, as do other MNVOs. Source: over 1 year ago
