Haskell - a general-purpose functional language with many unique properties (purely functional, lazy, expressive types, STM, etc). You mentioned you dabbled in Haskell, why not try it again? (I've written about 7 things I learned from Haskell, and my book is linked at them bottom if you're interested :) ). Source: 11 months ago

I just jumped into the wiki "Write Yourself a Scheme in 48 hours" which looks pretty good. (although some of the text explanation is hard to understand without context).. I used cabal to set up the starter project. Sublime editor seems to work OK and I just use the git Bash shell on windows to compile the program directly on the command line. DEV is a Rails monolith, which uses Preact in the front-end using islands architecture. The reason why I mention all this is that it's not a full-stack JavaScript application, and there is no state management library like Redux or Zustand in use. The data store, for the most part on the front end, is all data attributes. - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago

To provide that level of abstraction and elegant syntax, rails rely a lot on metaprogramming, so we can write less and achieve more on our codebase. - Source: dev.to / 6 months ago
Imagine a scenario where a user clicks on a link or button on the Rails website. This simple action initiates a web request from the user's browser, which then travels through the vast universe of inter-webs galaxies to land on the planet web server that hosts "Rails". The server then does its best and processes the request that was just received and sends back a response with the needed information and lands it... - Source: dev.to / 7 months ago
