You can still play with GPT-2 here, which may give you a better idea of how alien a pattern detecting algorithm with zero ability to interact with an exterior reality that provides referents “thinks”: https://transformer.huggingface.co. Source: 11 months ago
Try signing up for https://beta.openai.com/playground, I got access to GPT-3 in a couple days. For GPT-2 you can try out https://transformer.huggingface.co/. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
From GPT2: "Can AIs have conversations with multiple people at once? The answer is "yes" and "no". While it is possible to have a conversation with a single person (by communicating in text, email, etc .), it is not possible to have multiple conversations with one person at once." I would look into non-authoring approaches. Gamebooks and dungeon/hex crawls are one early example. Nowadays people are experimenting with analog techniques (like using cut-ups), or computer tech that takes advantage of machine learning like (Write With Transformer (AIDungeon is the more famous/infamous one, but more are emerging). If you want to play with Transformers you can go here https://transformer.huggingface.co/ They have a really easy to use library in Python called Transformers. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago

Haha I wouldn't be surprised if it was part of the training corpus, especially after the discount line! I didn't train it myself though, I used: https://transformer.huggingface.co/. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
There are plenty of free alternatives. Write With Transformer exists, is free, and has a few AI models to choose from. You can try the base GPT-J 6B model on EleutherAI's website, or through the KoboldAI Google Colab. Clover Edition exists, and has multiple AI models to choose from. GPT-Neo Dungeon exists, and uses GPT-Neo, hence the name. Open CYOAI and AI Dungeon 2 Unleashed also exist. GodAI exists as well,... Source: over 2 years ago

I have some other free alternatives to mention (mainly because Dreamily has the same privacy issues that plagued AID, which might be a deal breaker for you, and because Dreamily isn't really the best free alternative). Write With Transformer exists, is free, and has a few AI models to choose from. You can try the base GPT-J 6B model on EleutherAI's website, or through the KoboldAI Google Colab. The base GPT-J 6B... Dreamily does have a filter. The only thing I was able to trigger the filter with, however, was mentioning Xi Jinping. I also saw someone say that human trafficking triggers the filter, but I can't confirm. It's decent, buy really, though, it's not a great alternative if you're one of the users who left AI Dungeon for privacy reasons. It's arguably even worse than AI Dungeon when it comes to privacy and caring for... Source: over 2 years ago
HoloAI uses GPT-J 6B. It has a free trial, and subscription tiers of $5/$8 per month. InferKit has a free trial, uses the Megatron 11B model. A subscription is required after the free trial. I recognize those two are not completely free, but I mentioned them because they have abusable free trials. Write With Transformer exists, is free, and has a few AI models to choose from. HoloAI uses GPT-J 6B and has a free trial. Hyperwrite offers 1500 outputs for free, and uses GPT-3. After the free trial, a subscription is required. Though, some content (mostly NSFW content) is disallowed. ShortlyAI uses GPT-3, and offers a free trial. After the free trial, a subscription is required. Though, similarly to Hyperwrite, some content is disallowed. I mentioned HoloAI, Hyperwrite, and ShortlyAI... Source: over 2 years ago

NovelAI uses GPT-Neo 2.7B and GPT-J 6B, and has subscription tiers of $10/$15/$25 per month. It's probably the best alternative overall, in terms of output quality, the amount of features, and ease of use. HoloAI offers a free trial, and uses GPT-J 6B. After the free trial, it has subscription tiers of $5/$8 per month. Hyperwrite offers 1500 outputs for free, and uses GPT-3. After the free trial, a subscription is... Source: almost 3 years ago

You can try HoloAI's free trial. After the free trial, it has subscription tiers of $5/$8 per month. KoboldAI is completely free, and is a good frontend for running AI models locally. Talk To Transformer exists, though it's basically a free trial for Inferkit, now. Write With Transformer... Source: almost 3 years ago
The devs have said they'd like to offer it for free if it becomes financially viable. There's no guarantee, but it's a possibility. Until then, you can try HoloAI's free trial. I'm just wondering why so many people are acting as if NovelAI is the only alternative. There are plenty of alternatives, some of which are free. HoloAI has a free trial, and it's cheaper than NovelAI, with subscription tiers of $5 and $8 per month. It uses GPT-J 6B, and has a partially finetuned model available. GodAI and AID Clover Edition are good options. The former uses GPT-2 and has to be run locally, the... Source: almost 3 years ago
So far, all alternatives that I know are either too limited, too pricey (like that you can't really play enough without paying) or not even a real game. Source: almost 3 years ago
You may her the Infinite Story thrown around as an alternative, however that one does not have a very fleshed-out web-browser version. As such, I would not consider it a serious alternative to Ai Dungeon per your requirement. Write With Transformer also works, but its GPT-2 models are not nearly as good as any of the other services/options offered that I have stated above (except perhaps OPEN-CYOAI).
