I don't want to undermine your effort here, but checkout Tdarr. Source: 5 months ago
You could use the GPU for distributed transcoding / ai stuff. https://home.tdarr.io/. Source: 10 months ago
Outside of that, if you're looking for better overall direct play compatibility, there are quite a few ways to reencode the video while keeping the original audio/subtitle tracks. E.g. In HandBrake, you can choose the 'XYZ Passthru' option on the audio tracks, and if you choose an MKV container, you can add all existing subtitle tracks without burning them in: https://i.imgur.com/3BAiGTS.gif. The A2000 goes for about 250-290€, only uses 75W and has unlimited video encoding threads (as has the P2000), while the 3060 only has a max of 5 (locked by Nvidia). I have a P2000 in my Unraid system and it could do up to 14x 4k to 1080p transcodes... And that thing is from 2017. The A2000 has 1 generation newer ENC engine and 2 generations newer DEC engine. You could also use both cards perfectly with... Source: 10 months ago
The only problem I see here is that you haven't queued up enough work for all your parts. Can I introduce you to our Lord and Savior tdarr? https://home.tdarr.io/. Source: 11 months ago
Well, there’s always audio transcoding. I’m sure you can make a fast preset in Handbrake and import it into Tdarr. Source: 11 months ago
In addition to all the comments here, one has mentioned Tdarr. It’s like Handbrake but more automated. You can even export an encoding preset from Handbrake and use it in Tdarr. Source: 11 months ago
Tdarr - https://home.tdarr.io/ - is one option you can use to automate the transcoding, or do some less automated scripting with stuff like Handbrake. Source: 11 months ago
You could do that or download a compatible format of the movie or pre-transcode it using Handbrake or Tdarr. Source: 12 months ago
Tdarr can do it - https://home.tdarr.io/. Source: 12 months ago
Lol I'm pretty sure a guy made a tool to do the conversion for you automatically.. https://home.tdarr.io/. Source: about 1 year ago
One way to solve this issue would be to remove all local metadata from the files you don't want it to affect, Tdarr could help in that regard by running completely on its own and removing the metadata from a file that has it in a folder that you want to process. Source: about 1 year ago
If you have a pile of files to encode, you should consider using Tdarr. Source: about 1 year ago
There is a Project, Tdarr, that allows you to convert your library based on Plugin stacks into a desired output format. So far I am not aware that it is capable of creating different versions of the same file, you might want to ask this on the discord or on their subreddit r/Tdarr. Source: about 1 year ago
From there, you'll have to decide what quality you want to save your content at. If you want the highest quality possible (a direct copy of what's on the disc) you can just run it through MakeMKV and call it a day. If you want to save some space, HandBrake is a popular tool for re-encoding videos, though there many options (including Tdarr if you want to bulk convert things, though there's a bit of a learning... If the goal is to transcode specific audio/video codecs, you could also look into Tdarr, which can automate that process. Source: about 1 year ago

Need to check the codecs. I re encode all my media so any player will play https://tdarr.io/ No issues since. I’ve gotten away from using the smart tv apps they don’t work as well as something that is more mainstream. I use firetv. Source: over 1 year ago
You can also try something like Tdarr to get everything in the correct file format beforehand so it can all do direct play. Source: over 1 year ago
Does anyone have any ideas or tips for this? I have looked into tdarr but I could not find any addons that solve this, unfortunately. Source: over 1 year ago
