Social recommendations and mentions

We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about pCloud and what they use it for.
  • Need new cloud service
If you want Lifetime however, pCloud is a really popular option, with tons of features and good speeds (I typically get at least 160+ Mbps with them). They tend to run promos on their Lifetime deals around days like Black Friday, Christmas/New Year's, 4th of July, etc. They've already been around over a decade, so have shown thus far they can hold up against the test of time. • How best to store mixed file sizes in cloud storage?
Why not just put everything in a virtual drive (like what pCloud does) so that way it doesn't matter how much storage each computer has - every computer will have, say, 2 TB to use (if you got their 2 TB plan). Source: over 2 years ago
  • Cannot launch pcloud on ArchLinux with Sway
Anyone experienced a problem running pcloud on ArchLinux with Sway? I recently did a system update, and now whenever I try to start the app (even if I download the binary direct from pcloud.com and run that) I get this error: ```. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Way to issue different passwords to different users
pCloud can do at least 3 of those 4, and as an additional plus you can create your own custom "Branded Links" (some examples on this page) โ€“ where you can have a custom cover, title image and even message for links that you share with people. So if you want to create a tailored look for your client, you can do that. Source: over 2 years ago
  • i want to journal to help my mental health but my partner would read it
If you don't want to keep the document on your computer, use a free cloud space such us pcloud.com for the entries. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Cloud storage hosted in EU
pCloud lets you store all your data in its Luxembourg servers, where obviously it wouldn't be stored anywhere else (there's not even a way for them to bring it back if you delete it off their Luxembourg servers, so it's not copied or hosted anywhere else). Source: over 2 years ago

  • Best paid cloud data sync that is not Gdrive, Onedrive or Mega?
pCloud sounds like it checks all your boxes. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • cloud storage to monitor download counts
pCloud does this. They even send you a weekly report of your 'highest performing download link' with how many times was downloaded and how much bandwidth was transferred. You can also go back in time to different date ranges (it sets it by weeks) to see a graph of how much it was downloaded each week. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Best free cloud storage solution to publicly share collection of files
Pcloud.com has a built in music player and I think 10g of free storage. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • I uploaded some files to pCloud from my laptop but it's not showing in the web why?
What was your method of upload? I assume- pCloud Drive (drag and drop/ copy paste, etc) ? If a file does not appear in the web platform: https://pcloud.com that means that the files have not uploaded at all. OR that you need to delete the cache and cookies, logout and login back. • Private 'archive.is': download a website easily directly into my own cloud?
Great thanks for these info. However, I'm a complete amateur when it comes to IT, so 'selfhosted' is something too complicated for me. Does there exist something that I can connect (log in) directly to a cloud service? Just to give an idea in which direction I think of: in pcloud.com it is possible to enter the adresse of an online file (e.g. The url of a pdf file) and then it directly downloads this file to... • Is pCloud good for EDM Producers?
I have paid for pCloud, since they have the Lifetime plans and I found that pretty affordable. They also have a Desktop app- pCloud Drive, which blends seamlessly with the OS of the device and helps work as if you have an additional virtual Drive with lots of space. However, wanted to ask whether there is a specific cloud people use. Please share your thoughts. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • pCloud is perhaps the best cloud service for listening to music.
It took me a while to introduce my producers and the whole studio to pCloud, but it all snowballed instantly. I was basically recording my stuff at home (I have a small studio/ home edition- lol) and then sharing the demos with a pCloud link to my studio guy. They liked how easy it is to copy/ drag and drop those vocal tracks into the DAW is and created an account. 5 minutes later, he was adding the whole... Source: almost 3 years ago

Dropbox and pCloud! If you have not heard of the latter before: https://pcloud.com They offer lifetime plans which are very affordable. • A 10 EUR per month cloud storage?
pCloud is a popular one that has tons of features that's on there (Google Play link). If you open it there after installation, navigating the app to the upgrade section, it looks like it gives the option to pay with your linked methods. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Not for Mac users!
My suggestion: go for a similar service like iDrive.com, pCloud.com or Sync.com. Idrive is very complete and very affordable. The interface may be a little confusing at first though. Pcloud is good, but expensive, as you have to pay extra if you want zero-knowledge encryption. Sync.com is good and affordable. But if you do not want to mess up the structure of your Mac (if you made one), you have to know how to... Source: about 3 years ago
  • Looking for service with isolated folders but not per user fees.
pCloud can do this - you just give them their folder and they access it from their account. Source: about 3 years ago
  • What should I do?
If you want to be able to regularly access your files, there are many options - if you don't want the files to take up space on your device you could use pCloud. They do something pretty nifty to accomplish this (automatically) - they create what's known as a "virtual drive" and so, basically, your device thinks the files are local and downloaded, even though they're not. The result & benefit is they don't take up... Source: about 3 years ago

Summary of the public mentions of pCloud

Based on recent mentions and available context data, pCloud, a cloud storage service, has attracted public attention for its pricing flexibility, solid security features, and ease of use, positioning it as a formidable competitor among cloud storage options like Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive.

Security and Privacy

Public opinion often highlights pCloud's strong emphasis on security and privacy, a significant competitive edge over some alternatives. The Swiss-based company benefits from favorable privacy laws, such as the EUโ€™s GDPR. This positioning offers reassurance to users concerned about data privacy. pCloudโ€™s encryption features, particularly the pCloud Crypto, though an optional paid service, are frequently mentioned and praised. This zero-knowledge encryption service encrypts files client-side, allowing only the user to hold the keys. The company's challenge to hackersโ€”with a substantial monetary reward for breaking their encryptionโ€”demonstrates their confidence in these security measures.

Pricing and Flexibility

A prevalent theme in discussions is pCloud's competitive pricing models. The company offers multiple payment plans, including a notable Lifetime plan, which is increasingly cited as an attractive option for users seeking long-term storage solutions without recurring monthly fees. Additionally, pCloud's "pay as you use" model offers a customizable approach, appealing to users who appreciate tailored solutions.

Features and Usability

User feedback often lauds pCloud for its comprehensive suite of features, which includes file versioning, an integrated media player, and the ability to share files across multiple devices and users. pCloud Drive, a virtual drive feature, allows users to work with their cloud files seamlessly as if they were stored locally, which is particularly appreciated for its efficiency and convenience.

However, some critiques cite limitations in functionality, particularly around the free tier. Essential features such as password protection and zero-knowledge encryption are not available without an upgrade, potentially restricting the free planโ€™s utility for security-conscious users.

Adaptability and Support

Responses to pCloudโ€™s adaptability are generally favorable, with users expressing satisfaction with the ability to choose their data server location between the US and EU. This geographic flexibility can be a deciding factor for professionals handling sensitive data across borders. Yet, while pCloud's desktop client is recognized for its capabilities, some users find it slightly confusing or cumbersome, suggesting room for improvement in user interface design and user support services.

Integration and Collaboration

pCloud is frequently mentioned positively concerning collaboration features. It supports multi-user access with robust permissions settings, allowing teams to collaboratively work on projects with shared digital assets. Although predominantly aimed at individual users, companies utilizing pCloud for business purposes comment on its scalability and cost-efficiency.

Overall, public opinion reflects pCloud as a versatile and secure cloud storage solution. Its substantial feature set and unique payment options make it an appealing choice for various user needs, despite facing stiff competition from larger players in the cloud storage domain.
