I'm just testing idrive service and maybe I'm missing the point but it looks that anyone who gain access to idrive.com is able to get any file from any local drive, I mean any file. And even there're no notification that I should enable 2FA. And this mean that some employees could get access as well. Source: 11 months ago
With ZERO changes made to any of my devices, I am now able to reach idrive.com from all my devices. Source: over 1 year ago
Hello, I'm interested in what cloud service you use to store your photos and if you only use one cloud service or several, "just in case" . I think it would be interesting to analyze from our own experience relation to price/quality/security ratio/possibility to access thumbnail photos and also to give upload access for a directory. In google searches I found that for those who don't want to make a business out... Source: over 1 year ago
If you're really just wanting to store the files, then iDrive is pretty hard to beat on pricing - they've been running a 90% off promo on their 5 TB plan for a while now to where you can get a whole year of it for only $7.95 (total, not per month). Even on non-promo they're near impossible to beat on pricing. Source: almost 2 years ago
Is there a way to set it up so that I can sync my folder to reflect all local changes? I only need it one way. I don't access these files from other devices, nor do I go to idrive.com directly, so I will never need server->local syncing. Source: almost 2 years ago
My suggestion: go for a similar service like iDrive.com, pCloud.com or Sync.com. Idrive is very complete and very affordable. The interface may be a little confusing at first though. Pcloud is good, but expensive, as you have to pay extra if you want zero-knowledge encryption. Sync.com is good and affordable. But if you do not want to mess up the structure of your Mac (if you made one), you have to know how to... Source: almost 2 years ago
If you want it to mirror exactly as it's organized on your computer, then iDrive does this (by default). You could just tell it to backup, for example, your C: drive and it'd just backup everything exactly as it appears and is organized. Source: about 2 years ago
If you're just looking for a pure backup solution and don't want or need to interact with the files constantly, then iDrive would be great and basically nobody ever beats them on price. You can get 5,000 GB (5 TB) or 10,000 GB (10 TB) with them for hardly anything. Source: about 2 years ago
The script starts off OK, but when it comes time to sign into my account, the script bails with an "unable to connect, please try again" error right after I enter my email address. I have confirmed my server can reach all of the IP addresses in the iDrive Firewall configuration KB article. The only port they claim to need is 443, which is open, and I can access https://idrive.com from the server. Source: about 2 years ago
I feel you but make sure you have an excellent backup routine in place because without having a phone die can yield mixed results. idrive.com is great, there are many others but idrive is solid. I have nothing to do with them just a satisfied customer + the reviews speak volumes. Source: about 2 years ago
A couple weeks after I got the new service, all of a sudden I had episodes of bad performance (download speed quite variable, sometimes fine but usually less than a third the "plan speed") *and* I couldn't reach my backup service's (idrive.com) web interface nor ping/tracert idrive.com over the Comcast link... I could see the tracert report hanging about 16 hops out, after exiting Comcast, so I didn't think it... Source: over 2 years ago
Idrive.com has two options. One is 5TB first year for $8 USD. You can encrypt the volume with your own key so only you have access to the data an it is not scanned by said cloud provider. Its just cloud storage. So data sovereignty not really an issue. They also have idrive photos That is $5 for the year which will store ORIGINAL quality (not borked Google Photo) pics and video unlimited (per user). I... Source: over 2 years ago
I had this, trying to get to idrive.com ... For a long time my access to that site worked then one day that one site stopped responding. My Comcast residential service would get to every other site on the internet but that one site would time out (from multiple workstations, or from a phone on WiFi, etc - any way I tried to use Comcast, it would time out.) I got Comcast to confirm they weren't blocking the site,... Source: over 2 years ago
Crashplan refugee since August 2017 Home plan discontinued. I went with idrive.com, Arq Backup and use wasabi.com and Google Drive enterprise for storage. Source: almost 3 years ago
People can also, if they really are paranoid about it, back up their stuff on iDrive. That's honestly what's heavily recommended anyways in data storage, no matter what company's you go with – having your stuff backed up in 2+ locations in case something happens to one. Source: almost 3 years ago
Start your idrive.com backup today. While a version of your data set exists on Crashplan. Source: about 3 years ago
