  • Ask HN: How to Make News Aggregation Work in 2024?
When google did this long ago: https://news.google.com/ I knew the new industry was going to collapse. What more do you need from a new aggregator? Journalism was doomed since though. I had tried https://ground.news/ but never stuck with it. I like the idea but it fails at dimension. There is no left vs center vs right in Canada. Politics in Canada and Europe is 3 dimensional at least with wormholes in our... - Source: Hacker News / 15 days ago
  • Yahoo is buying Artifact, the AI news app from the Instagram co-founders
I have found ground.news [1] decent, it limits the AI to creating quick summaries and assessing which side of the political spectrum news articles and organisations fall. The rest is up to the reader. 1. https://ground.news/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • Do you still trust the news?
If you actually give a fuck you may use something like https://ground.news/. Source: 5 months ago
  • Govt of Canada proposes a 4% Link Tax
Alarmist claims aside, there are a lot of verifiable stories in the right-wing media bubble that are completely unknown to people in the left-wing bubble, and vice-versa. I really dig https://ground.news/ just for giving some perspective on who's (not) getting exposed to what. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • The Fandomization of News
You could try out https://ground.news/. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
  • AMA Guest Experts: Ground News - They Have Sponsored Nearly 1000 Creators & Counting. Now They Want to Answer Creator Questions. Starts 12PM Pacific Time 7/19/2023.
Ground News is a startup that is disrupting the news industry. On a mission to make media coverage more transparent, their website and app let you compare news sources, read between the lines of media bias and break free from algorithms. Source: 10 months ago
  • Show HN: Janus, explore how NYT and Fox News interpret the same story
Not exactly the same, but GroundNews[0] is great for this same idea. They don’t do analysis of the differences though. [0]: https://ground.news/. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • Google to remove news links in Canada in response to online news law | CBC News
I would like to take this moment to recommend https://ground.news/ website and/or mobile app. It's free and also features subscription options for additional features and heavier users. Source: 10 months ago
  • Does the media actually post lies and misinformation?
Agreed. I would also suggest using sites/apps like Ground News to see what the different media conglomerates are reporting. It is interesting to see the differences in how a news story is reported. Source: 11 months ago
  • How Reddit Radicalizes The Left And Encourages Political Violence
Ground.news, the neutral news aggregator that specializes in identifying media bias, siloing and blindspots has rated the Federalist as a "right," not as "far-right" on their seven-point bias scale. Source: 11 months ago
  • What other free apps/websites besides Reddit can I use to get world news from multiple sources?
You could try Ground news . They have recently launched and is by the creators of TLDR YouTube channel. Trying to eliminate or point out bias in news, gives you a generated summary of article based on multiple sources and links articles from multiple sources for you. They also have an app for ios/ android. Source: 11 months ago
  • ’Conspiracy theories have become normalised in the UK’, says BBC disinformation correspondent Marianna Spring
Fundementally, people should rely less on the illusion of authority such sites provide. While I have plenty of critiques (starting with: why tf are they using the USA's political colour coding when the site's content is localised to the UK, especially when the coding we use is pretty universal aside from the USA), sites like Ground News that aggregate articles from across the political spectrum to demonstrate... • That was one of the worst AMAs I've seen. It seems some people were waiting for this to make a decision and are already going dark indefinitely. I hope that continues
I plan on using Ground News to replace the current events aspects. I'm going to use individual communities for areas I'm interested in. I'm going to abandon most of the social interaction aspects and try to socialize more at events I actually go to. Source: 11 months ago
  • Selection interview
Start with a news aggregator site like https://www.newsnow.co.uk/ or https://ground.news/ and pick a few topic areas which interest you to drill down into. For example if you want a "food security" story look for that and you might get led to this. Source: 11 months ago
  • Where do you get opinion-less news?
I like NPR and Reuters. ground.news also gives you multiple articles for a piece of news and gives you the bias leanings for you to be aware of. Source: 11 months ago
  • Hate in Ontario is at a ‘linchpin moment, we’re either going to keep it in the grenade or we’re going to see some things explode’
You are prudent to be cautious, however Ground News has an app that tracks bias of news stories and news platforms. Source: 11 months ago

ABC, SBS, Guardian. I recently found via Reddit, ground.news - which is an international news aggregator that shows you the bias (left, right or centre) of the publisher as well. Source: 12 months ago
  • Why are PBS and NPR both seen as highly reliable sources for news and information?

Thanks for the link, I'll check that out and send you one of my own. There's a great news source called Ground News https://ground.news/ that shows you the bias of what you're reading as well as who own the news outlets you're reading from to give you deeper context to the news you see. • From WSJ this morning. Are you people stupid? If the government defaults on its debt (which it won't, let's be realistic), holding government debt that will be worthless doesn't do you any good
I've replaced the WSJ with 1440 newsletter. Still deciding if it's worth it. Same with https://ground.news and justthenews.com. Source: 12 months ago
  • Where do you go for unbiased news?
Not really possible. Best thing you have is Ground News: https://ground.news/. Source: about 1 year ago
