  I personally have been trying out Fantastical and it literally is life changing doing everything in a calendar. You can make a recurring event or something and have it notify you whenever you want. There was no calendar view in the app. That’s not so bad, since I do most of the scheduling in Google Calendar.   I've been using Fantastical for over a year now and it works great for me as I can see all my events and reminders for each day. iCal, Reminders, Google Calendar, and Google Tasks syncing work really well, too.
