Yorba's Features:

  1. Finds and aggregates your online accounts. Even the ones you forgot about. This is done by:

    • Searching for any public associations of your email address with an account
    • Scanning inboxes for email metadata indicative of accounts and/or the automated mailing lists they put you on (optional, but important)
    • Scanning payment history for recurring charges to infer the existence of the accounts charging those fees (also optional)
  2. Displays a β€œPrivacy Grade” for each account, drawn from sources like TOS;DR and DuckDuckGo’s Privacy Grades (so you know which accounts to delete first)

  3. Provides a handy button to delete an account in a click – or instructions, when the process is complex

  4. Provides a handy button to unsubscribe from mailing lists without digging through your inbox

  5. Provides stats and such on your digital footprint, like how many accounts you have, how much you’re paying for β€˜em, how much automated email you receive (and when/if you actually open it).

  6. Provides the largest Account Deletion Directory, making it easy for you to review and delete accounts you no longer want.

  • Adding a real feature to a project πŸ§›
The very first one I came across was a package called useHooks. It looked like a really cool package with tonnes of hooks to use, and useQueue was one of them. - Source: dev.to / 7 months ago
  • Thoughts on useEffect ?
There are a bunch of library custom hooks, sometimes they encapsulate logic better, you should prefer them or build your own instead. Source: 11 months ago
  • Is using both observer.unobserve and observer.disconnect redundant
It’s been some time since I’ve worked with intersection observer, so I’m not entirely sure of the answer in this instance. That said, something I tend to do when I run into something like this is look at an implementation that already exists from something like usehooks.com. I find a reference implementation to be a useful sanity check for this sort of thing. Source: about 1 year ago
  • What library or tool is causing you the most pain right now?
That is the case for many custom hooks you could build. Sure, you can find libraries implementing those for you, but it doesn't change the fact that React apps still relies a lot on useEffect hook. Source: about 1 year ago
  • React hooks with real-world project examples
