It’s been some time since I’ve worked with intersection observer, so I’m not entirely sure of the answer in this instance. That said, something I tend to do when I run into something like this is look at an implementation that already exists from something like usehooks.com. Some web-based UI libs do have RN siblings though - such as React Native Material and React Native Paper (for Material-UI), and tailwind-rn (for Tailwind).
