  DuckDuckGo is really good when it comes to privacy, but just as bad as google with showing information. Even though it doesn't tell you most of the top results on DuckDuckGo are ads, they paid to be the top results. It also tends to filter out non politically correct information. • What happened to Yippy search?

  Yippy.com was a great alternative to the mainstream search engines, it reminded me of an improved altavista from back in the day. But yippy.com now redirects to DDG, and I can't find any word as to why. The "Try YIPPY Search" link on yippyinc.com also gets redirected.   Added it using the extension? Well, there is a better way. First remove the extension. Second, in the search bar type https://qwant.com and go to the website. Now right click on the search bar and you will see an option to add Qwant to the list of search options. Just add it and you will not see any pop ups. Source: almost 2 years ago
