Any specifics on which games? Does it work on any game? I tested Xonotic on a 144Hz monitor the other day and the highest FPS I got to see was ~90 with no tearing on Kubuntu liveiso but I was using Intel kaby lake integrated graphics, so I assume FreeSync was not at play here, even though the monitor supported it. I got my infinitybook 16 pro performance edition with RTX 3060 and I am pretty happy with it so far. However, I did run into an issue. I want to use PRIME for switchable graphics to not worry about rebooting when I need to switch to battery. However, I noticed that I run into issues when using that. Prior to 3.1.x the dat subdirectory didn't exist yet but data.base was present somewhere, possibly in the src subdirectory instead. I don't know whether it goes as far back as hack 1.x or even nethack 2.x. The source code for a bunch of old versions is present at https://nethackwiki.com/ but I'm not sure whether the data files are all there too.
