I’m quite proud of the code - I’ve worked on P2P and file transfer systems for so so long that I think this might be some of the best code I’ve worked on. The next thing you want to look into is file integrity. Files can get corrupted & if you update your backup with a corrupted version of the file the backup isn't much help. If you're hoping to retain data for an extended period of time look into file hashing.
