Now im really fired up about going to South America, any spanish speaking country in South America. I have my TEFL cert and about 1000 usd saved I just made a workaway.info account and have been sending a bunch of messages. Source: 9 months ago
That Is a great idea. I have many volunteering experiences in many countries in the world. The websites that you can use are worldpackers.com and workaway.info There is a yearly membership but it is totally worth it. Source: 10 months ago
Workaway.info - Workaway, private hosts and cultural exchange programs for all kinds of travelers, with jobs of everything from elder care to farming. Source: 10 months ago
I'm Canadian and I used workaway.info to plan my near-future 6-month trip to Japan. I think it's about $50 USD for an annual membership. Some of the Japanese hosts pay minimum wage in their region or slightly higher in exchange for the working opportunities they provide. You have to specifically find the postings labelled 'paid position' if you're interested in that though. Source: 10 months ago
To experience a place there's nothing better than staying with the locals. Have you considered Hospex websites such as CouchSurfing or BeWelcome? Source: 10 months ago
Try the Glasgow group on bewelcome.org - hospitality exchange. There are over 100 hosts in Glasgow. Source: 12 months ago
That's because they built the site with volunteers and then the founders cashed in and now the site is behind a paywall. Better join bewelcome.org, trustroots.org, or couchers.org. Source: over 1 year ago
You get kicked out for a variety of reasons - mentioning bewelcome.org sharing a whatsapp number and according to a couchers founder, actively volunteering for another planform (allegedly). Source: over 1 year ago
I know what you mean. The town where I went to uni had several language meet ups that were quite a lot of fun. I never looked for German language clubs specifically, but I am sure you'll be able to find some on meetup.com and bewelcome.org. One-on-one meetings sound like a good idea as well, so maybe check out some tandem websites. Source: over 1 year ago
