Improve your website speed and mobile responsiveness. Google loves websites that load fast. Make sure your pictures aren't heavy. Use apps like TinyJPG. Use the right amount of animation because too much of anything is bad. Source: 8 months ago
Extract the scanned image and resize to make it a bit smaller, then compress the images on tinyjpg.com, merge them all into one pdf file using smallpdf, finally compress the pdf file again on the same website. Source: about 1 year ago
I'd say that a proper OR recommended approach towards optimizing images for the web is to manually compress them with compression tools like TinyJPG or Squoosh before uploading them to your favorite image CDN. Why? you'd ask me. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
Oh and for the file size: compressing is usually better than resizing. And your image is a PNG which is much bigger in size than a JPG and you barely notice the difference. You can use https://tinyjpg.com/ or any proper image editor for good compression or even in Wonderdraft, you can (for sharing on Reddit) better export it as a JPG and at 80% or so. Maybe it will be overkill for flags, but you can try with dithering algorithms, where you can select which color you want to keep: Https://ditherit.com/ Https://github.com/noopkat/floyd-steinberg. Source: over 1 year ago
ImageMagick can do anything, but it's a commandline program. There may be some websites that dither images for you - https://ditherit.com/ is one. (I also wrote a program years ago that is excellent at color reduction and dithering, but it's not currently usable.). Source: over 1 year ago
It’s called dithering. Instead of using many different colors you just choose a few and make the best of it. With using six colors (red, green, blue, yellow, white, black) any color can be matched. You can try it out with this tool: https://ditherit.com/. Source: almost 2 years ago
I used https://pixelartselfie.com/en. I later found https://ditherit.com/ which offers more features so I’ll probably do more works. Source: almost 2 years ago
